General / Resetting geolocation of model
« on: April 08, 2017, 11:10:30 PM »
Hello,

We are using Photoscan to create orthographic mapping of archaeological sites, and are running into the following problem. The initial model is geolocated using the Exif GPS data of the drone photographs. However, it is necessary to measure ground control points using RTK, which we would like to use to improve the accuracy of the geolocation of the model  (without again going through the model creation stages).

Is it possible to "reset" the geolocation of the model, after the completion of the dense cloud and mesh?  It seems that inputting ground control points at these stages does not work if the Exif GPS data of the photos was used in the photo alignment stage.

Thanks!

Hi everybody, I'd like to share some recent projects that we have been working on using Photoscan for the documentation of archaeological monuments and salvage excavations in the Jerusalem region for the Israel Antiquities Authority:

General / Georeferencing model by markers
« on: September 24, 2016, 05:48:24 PM »
Hello, I've created a model of a building which I would like to export for Google Earth (.kmz). My camera locations aren't georeferenced, but I have the coordinates and elevation of three points on the model (the corners of the building). The building is scaled correctly. Is it possible to georeference the model by placing three markers with the coordinates? I've placed the markers and have entered the coordinates into the reference panel but am still unable to export a .kmz file.

Thank you in advance!
