I have 2S E5-2670 CPUs, hyperthreading disabled, and one core per CPU turned off bc I have two graphics cards.   Is this the fastest configuration for these processors?  Some steps are painfully slow on such a powerful workstation.  I have no trouble with the GPU assisted stuff with a nvidia Titan black and a evga 660ti (soon to be another Titan black) but I feel my processors are too slow.  I read up on upgrading them to a pair of E5-2690s, and I think I can, but I'm not another $500 sure that they're compatible with my motherboard or whatever.  I believe the machine is capped at 3.3GHz in the bios but in not savvy enough to be that confident.  Can someone please advise me?

Bug Reports / launch error at line 67
« on: February 18, 2017, 07:34:48 PM »
I have been getting the failure "launch error at line 67" when performing a dense cloud generation.  it always happens during the restructuring depth phase.   I fiiiiiiiiinally got it to finish processing by selecting the lowest setting possible.  I have the necessary computing power to do 15 of these at one time, so I don't understand why I am having this trouble.   I am running dual xeon e5 2670s, 128GB RAM, and a nvidia geforce titan black.   any ideas?

General / Question about my current set up and poor performance
« on: February 02, 2017, 02:19:51 AM »
Hello, first time poster here with a question about my set up.  I bought a Lenovo D30 with dual Xeon E5-2670 CPUs, 128gb ram, and originally a Nvidia Quadro 6000.  I had trouble with the Quadro as stated in many of the topics on this forum, so I bought a GTX Titan Black as I am not able to perform SLI with this system and I don't have the money for a Titan Z yet.  Anyways, I have all of this capacity and hardly any of it seems to be utilized.  I attached a photo for reference.  Can anyone who is better with computers please explain this to me?   My drivers are "up to date" if that makes any difference.
