General / exporting contours to google earth
« on: February 08, 2025, 09:58:49 PM »
I set control points and flew a drone flight over a property and processed the data already. Is there a way to export that image into google earth and be able to see the elevation data, or add contour lines to the google earth image? Any help would be appreciated.

General / Exporting aerial ortho Kmz with elevation profile
« on: February 05, 2025, 04:38:40 PM »
I created a geo referenced ortho with a drone. I exported the ortho and dem into a kmz that i opened in google earth. It does look like getting the elevation data from those kmz in goggle earth. I have the terrain layer turn on in google earth. When i hover the cursor over a spot in the kmz image the new elevation data is projected in the bottom right of the screen. I also created a path in the kmz and then i looked at the elevation profile and its still showing the profile of google earth elevation, not the data from my kmz. Any advice on what to check to make sure im exporting things correctly.

General / Control points with aerial surveys

I understand that the process of the how to use checkpoint to check your accuracy. I understand you uncheck your control points to not use them in the processing, but what do you do after that?

General / Placing Markers
« on: December 13, 2022, 05:28:45 PM »
Im processing images captured with a p4pro. Ground control points were set out as well.  Im at the stage when im attempting to place the markers, but when I right get i'm not getting the option to place the marker.   When i look at the model view the markers appear to be in the air slighty above the model.

General / Measuring volume between specific elevation help
« on: April 14, 2022, 09:19:33 PM »
Is it possible to measure volume between two specific elevations from a drone survey of a open pit mine. For example it the pit is 100 ft deep and I want to measure the volume between 100ft and 50ft deep. Is this possible?

General / volume measurement without gcps
« on: July 19, 2021, 08:35:50 PM »
Is it possible to measure volume without using gcps. The photos of the stockpile were collected with a dji phantom 4pro. Is there a workflow that will allow you to measure a stockpile without using gcps?  Ive never used agisoft to measure volume before and i wanted to compare the difference with and without gcps. I have been unable to make it work yet though. The dem has already been created for the model without gcps. When i attempt to measure the shape in the dem only planar and profile are available. The volume button is grayed out and i can click it.

I’m trying to convert my exif data from my p4pro to match my the coordinates that my gcps where shot in. Nad83 Texas south central state plane 4204. Any help which one it is. I found something similar but I’m lacking 4204

General / Repeating same workflow from a previous ortho file.

I’m trying to repeat a workflow on a set of photos I processed last year. Is it possible to look at the old file and find out how my workflow went?

General / Help exporting points
« on: July 08, 2018, 08:20:36 PM »
I recently flew a mission of a drainage ditch. I flew at 200ft with 80/75 overlap, ended up with around 560 images.I used 10 gcp’s. I normally just make a model and or orthomosiac.  I need to export the points to send to someone.  They will use the points to calculate the capacity of the ditch at flow line at a certain elevation.   My question is  can I export point, then export sparse cloud points.  Or would I need to export the dense cloud points.  Is the sparse point cloud accurate enough for measuring. The dense cloud point exported is about 2.35 gigs.  I’m exporting this as a txt file. They only need the points in x,y,z format.

If I export via export model, the model is floating in the air when viewed in google earth.  When I export via export ortho and view it in google earth It is on ground level.

How do I get the exported model kml file pinned to the ground like the ortho?

General / How did I get two different kmz file sizes?
« on: August 06, 2017, 11:14:19 PM »
I built two orthomosiac using the same workflow and same aerial photos . When i exported to kmz one file was 27mb and the other was over 500mb.  When I view each of the kmz file on google earth the image quality is the same. What could I have for. That caused this? I keep rebuilding the same ortho and ending up with a kmz that's over 500mb.

General / Orthomosiac aerial image exported as a kml file.
« on: July 08, 2017, 03:17:55 AM »
I just need to create a 2d image that can be exported as a kml file. What is the proper workflow to create that? I'm needing to make a orthomosiac image that can be exported as a kml file. How much difference is between high and ultr high when building the dense cloud.  I will Be viewing these kml files on google earth pro. I want to end up with the highest quality kml file.   I'm new to this, so go easy on me.  Thanks
