Feature Requests / Feature Request : Logfile per Project

I'm often running processes on multiple metashape projects concurrently, consequently the logfile is very difficult to read as it contains entries from different projects interspersed with each other.

Could you implement a scheme where logfiles are written to a sub-directory with the name of the project file or some other means of keeping logfile entries for different projects separate from each other?

Same as the "Move Cameras" except Copy.

I find myself identifying cameras that I want to duplicate to another chunk to provide overlap for use in the align chunks, align by cameras method.

General / Incremental mesh from depth maps

I have a project with 16,000 aligned cameras. In order to get a quick(er) view of what the final model would look like I disabled three of every four cameras then ran the mesh from depth maps.  So now I have a colourised, shaded model made from 4,000 depth maps.  I can see some holes in the model so what I tried was to enable more cameras in the areas of the model where there are holes then I re-ran the mesh from depth maps checking the option to keep depth maps. 

I had hoped that this would incrementally generate depth maps for the images that I had enabled (in the same way that you can add extra images to the alignment) while keeping the depth maps it had from the first iteration.  It did not seem to do that, instead it went directly to the building the model stage. I stopped the process as soon as I saw it going directly to build model stage.  Can you confirm that I need to rebuild all the depth maps?  If it does not do that could you consider it for an enhancement to a future version?

General / Excessive Image Elimination in Standard Edition?

I downloaded the documentation pdf for v1.6 and note that on page 10 it mentions Excessive image elimination.  I can't find the "Reduce Overlap" dialogue from the Tools menu.

General / Mesh from Depth Maps problems (v1.5.2)

I've been having problems getting any decent  models since upgrading to MetaShape v1.5.1 and v1.5.2.  Its all underwater models that I do and the images are very poor quality so i assumed that i'd just had a run of really bad image acquisition.

However I went back to a model i did with v1.35 to compare results and it turns out that the Mesh from Depth Maps produces very much worse results.

See the attached images.

v1.3.5 was produced via a DPC.  I was pretty happy with this result as the visibility was less than 4m with lots of matter in the water and out popped this excellent model.

v1.5.1 was produced using the Depth Maps method using v1.5.1

v1.5.2 also was produced with the Depth Maps method but using v1.5.2.  When the "black veil" is manually removed (which is a very time consuming task and never completely successful) the model looks very like image v1.5.1.

Bug Reports / Metashape 1.5 error when Remote Desktop

When I Remote Desktop to my workstation running Metashape I get an "Invalid Operation" error written to the Metashape log.  The stack trace is very long so I won't post it here unless you are interested in having it.

I have seen this in previous versions which, if i recall correctly, actually caused Photoscan to crash.  Metashape does not crash.

Not such a big issue really but thought best to mention it.

Feature Requests / Console Message documentation

Is there any documentation on the meaning of the messages that are logged to the Console window?

As i'm now spending a rather large proportion of my life watching these message scroll past it would be rather nice to understand what they actually means rather than what i think they mean.

I note that the original purchase of a license included 1 year of email support and software updates (upto v1.9).

How much does 2nd and subsequent years costs for email support and software updates?

What is the reason for limiting updates to v1.9?
