General / Remove background from model
« on: October 20, 2019, 03:12:26 PM »
Hello everyone,

I have scanned a skull, aligned the photos, and now I've just created the dense point cloud. But the background is included in the model in such a way that it's impossible to manually remove it. Is there a way of doing this? Perhaps a step I've missed?

Thank you in advance to everyone for their help.

Best regards,
Carlos

General / "Dense Point Cloud" button not appearing
« on: October 14, 2019, 02:13:45 AM »
Hello,

I have created the dense point cloud, and to view it I wanted to press the "Dense Point Cloud" button, but it is not clickable, as if I still hadn't created it. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Regards,
Carlos

General / Mask multiple images at once with one same image
« on: October 07, 2019, 08:02:50 PM »
Hi everyone,

I've photographed a skull with a turntable, and prior to taking a series of photos I took a photo of the turntable without the skull, to use this photo to mask the images. I have so far been able to mask single images with this photo, but I can't mask the whole series of photos with it. It seems that when I want to mask multiple photos, the program expects there to be masks of the same name as the photo it has to mask, but since it was made with a turntable, only one photo without the skull is necessary. How can I use one same photo to create masks on multiple images at once?

When I select the images I want to mask, I right click and choose "Import Masks", in the dialog that opens, I've chosen the following options:

  • Method: From background
    Operation: Replacement
    Filename template: (?)
    Tolerance: 20

    Apply to: All cameras

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

Regards,
Carlos

General / Human skull: Cannot create dense point cloud
« on: March 08, 2019, 11:25:35 PM »
Hello.

I'm very new to 3D and this is the first time I try to scan an object. I've tried several times in different ways to create the dense point cloud but it wasn't possible. One time I tried and I waited 27 hours, so last time I've converted the images to JPEG and reduced the size of the photos to approximately 1400x900 pixels. I've taken photos from 5 different angles. The first steps seem to work fine, even the sparse point cloud looks good and without gaps, until I create the dense point cloud: The photos appear on the inside of the 3D model and as you can see in the photos, it has many incomplete areas.

I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.
