General / Blank Extent when trying to build orthomosaic

Hi there,

I am trying to build an orthomosaic off of a DEM i also created in Agisoft Metashape.

I keep getting an error saying that I have an "empty extent". My DEM is in NAD83 / UTM Zone 12N and I am trying to build it in the same coordinate system. Can anyone help?

General / Holes in point cloud but not orthomosaic

HI there,

I am processing around 8000 scanned images and trying to make an orthomosaic, DEM, and point cloud.

After aligning the photos and creating the point cloud, there seems to be many holes in it. The orthomosaic is fine, but the point cloud is very patchy, especially when zoomed in. I'm attaching a screenshot to this post.

For the alignment, I used a 40,000 key point limit, and a 4,000-tie point limit. I could potentially restart the alignment, but it took 22 days to complete.

Any help would be appreciated!

General / Alignment Error

Hi there, 

I am trying to run an alignment of over 8000 aerial images, and I keep getting an error that alignment failed for most of the photo. To be specific, only 502/8698 photos aligned.

Could someone help me as to what is causing this?

General / Moved .psx location and now can't open project

Hi there,

I'm working on a fairly large project where most of the photos were located on a network drive, but we upgraded our internal hard drives and planned on running the project there.

I copied the pictures over and then moved the ,psx  to internal hard drive, but then encounter this error when I try to open it.

How do I remedy this?

General / Wonky DEM of scanned images

Hi there,

I recently ran the "generate DEM" process with a work project I am working on that consists of around 4TB of scanned aerial images. The process took weeks to complete, and when completed, most of the DEM looks great expect some specific parts where it obviously differs based on the flight path of the photos.

I created a mesh and point cloud prior, and everything looked fine before I ran the DEM process.

Does anyone know why these streaks appear?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or knowledge regarding running Agisoft Metashape in a cloud.

I am currently working on a project with ~4TB of images and running processes on our machines  has taken weeks.

Would running this on a server make the process go faster?

I am trying to export a point cloud as an .obj file, but after a week of processing, I got this error. Any reason for this error and to how to prevent it again?

General / Dense Cloud Export

Hi there,

I am exporting a dense cloud that is based off of ~4TB of scanned images. Agisoft says it will take 68 days to fully export.

Is this correct and/or normal for a dataset of this size?

General / Unexpected Error when trying to export non-georeferenced orthomoasiac

I am trying to export a non-georeferenced orthomosaic, but keep getting an TIFFReadTile error.  Any help as to why this is occurring? I attached screenshots of the error and the console. Thanks!

General / Unsupported Datum Transformation when building non-georeferenced mosaic

HI there,

I am trying to create a non-georeferenced mosaic, but am getting an error when I run the "Build Orthomosaic" tool that says "Unsupported datum transformation".

My coordinate system is set to WGS 84(EPSG::4326).

Please let me know how I can fix this!

General / libtiff error when running image alignment

Hi there, I was running an alignment on a set of around 4000 tiffs, and I got this error. Any help on why this error occurred?

I checked the image in ArcGIS Pro, and it looked normal. Any help would be great!

General / Can't Find Tile Size

I have a dataset of around 1400 TIFFS that I am trying to align in Metashape, but keep getting an error that states "Can't find tile size" about 30 seconds into the process. Could someone help me to figure out what is happening?
