Hi

Currently we are supplying our clients with volumetric drawings for things like stockpiles etc. The drawings serve their purpose but do not really advertise what we are doing with point clouds and 3D models.

I'm trying to find a way to supply them with the ability to view and interact with the 3D models we can create. This would give them extra utility and provide additional eye candy that may help secure additional work.

I thought Agisoft Viewer would be perfect for this but haven't had success so far.

I have brought .tif files but these are obviously only 2.5D models and don't look great.

Ideally I would like to bring in a full 3D model.

If someone could let me know the best format and settings for model export that would be great.

Also if it could be in the correct position to our coordinate system that would be much better for us. I found a thread on here saying they solved the positioning exporting a tiled model but I could not get this to work.

Any help with the above would be greatly appreciated.

General / Metashape Pro Local Network Licencing
« on: March 07, 2023, 03:07:45 PM »
Hi

I am just waiting for some replacement parts to get our new processing computer up and running. Once the new machine going our old processing machine will not have much use.

I was wondering whether I can run the old machine just as a processing node without a licence. Its not worth us getting an additional licence for it but would be if I can use it to reduce processing time for free.

I had a quick look online and there was an old thread discussing it and from Alexys comment I think you can as he said

"PhotoScan instance run in server mode only doesn't require the license  activation  - only processing nodes and client application run in GUI mode (to perform some changes to the project) require activation."

He then referred people to the user manual which I downloaded the latest version and scanned through and didn't see anything confirming licencing.

Can someone please confirm if it is possible to set up a processing node without an additional licence with Metashape Pro v2.0 before I spend time trying to set it up.

Thanks

Bug Reports / Metashape Pro Crashing - Align Photos
« on: March 01, 2023, 02:54:55 PM »
Hi,

We have recently purchased a new processing PC and it is currently crashing every time I try to align the photos. This data set is running fine on our old processing PC but I am unable to get it to run on this much more powerful system.

I am currently running the software in the trial version on the new machine until I can get it working.

Below is the new machines specs

Windows 11 Home (x64) v22H2
Core i9-13900K
4090 RTX
128GB DDR4
Z690 Aorus Elite MB
2TB Samsung 980 Pro (C: Programme Drive)
4TB FireCuda Gen4 (Drone Processing)
1200w Corsair HX1200 80PLUS Platinum Power Supply

It completes the matching points phase of the process and fails/blue screens during the Estimating Camera Locations section.

The machine was built and stress tested by a professional company. I have also updated all the drivers to the latest available manufacturer recommended ones. I have also ran the the built in RAM test within windows.

I have tried running the process multiple times after; disabeling the XMP profile for the RAM and running the sticks at stock speed, disabling antivirus, disabling the on board graphics card, creating main/gpu_enable_cuda tweak parameter and creating --opengl angle command line parameter as per your recommendations in the help portal. Yet I still cant get the software to complete the task.

The Windows Event viewer isnt picking up anything regarding Metashape although when I first tried the system it logged some Application Hang logs which I will attach with the Agisoft Log.

If anyone has any possible solutions to the above problem I will be grateful to hear them.
