General / markers not appearing on scanned mesh
« on: April 06, 2025, 09:02:15 AM »
Hi
I've imported a scanned mesh in a separate chunk. I create markers on the surface but no markers can be seen. They appear in the chunk but not on mesh. How can I solve this? (obviously I can't put markers on photographes)

Regards
Hans

Bug Reports / fit scale
« on: March 28, 2025, 12:14:09 AM »
it has always been confusing..... align chunks > fix scale: check it means don't change the scale. it means fixate, not fix things so change one of them to match.
Oke I got used to it , so it means fixate.
now the confusion may start all over again; now it says FIT. does it mean change scale to match or is it still fixate? the window says fit, the manual says fix.

Hans

I am confused,In pre-calibration we rotate the camera...0 degrees, 90 degrees, 270 degrees when using the scene for this (so not chessboard).  Should all these images be put in 1 camera calibration group or should it be 3 groups, that will be aligned together?

Camera Calibration / focal length px changes during pre-calibration
« on: September 06, 2024, 04:20:21 PM »
Hi
F (focal length inpx) parameter is calculated using focal length mm devided by pixel size mm. In the initial tab it shows the right F(px) as 7634.75008
after using 9  checkerboard images for pre-calibration it is changed to 8971.2534.
My question is: why?
and: can I fix the initial figure prior to the actual calibration, or is that not the way to go?
Thanks

General / Ground sampling distance for 3D objects
« on: May 17, 2024, 09:25:22 AM »
hi all,
I asked this question in camera calibration group but Iguess this is the correct group...
is ground sampling distance for 'true' 3d objects usefull? is the figure we get on page2 report the average?
want to get a kind of level of quality that can be compared.

thanks,

Camera Calibration / calibration in each photo?
« on: April 26, 2024, 11:17:54 AM »
Hi
I have 4 camera calibration groups (different settings so one group per setting) and calibrate each group separately. Is camera calibration stored into each photo so I can merge all photos to one chunk  and have them aligned together again?  or is original calibration lost?

turntable setup;
agisoft pro 'generate masks defocus area' gives as result the total model. Halfway the operation it looks oke and shows only sharp parts of model, but when starting 'relaxation' it ends up with the full model, including unsharp parts.

9
on my close range setup I'm using targets for aligning and scaling purposes. I detect markers as first thing to do, so they will be used in first alignment of photos. The photos all have masks, and targets are masked out. Will they still be used for aligning?
Thanks

General / close range accuracy settings
« on: February 27, 2024, 03:45:47 PM »
I've saved my questions, because sometimes I find the answer myselves after a while, but I really can't find the answer :
reference settings; camera accuracy... How much for turntable setup, so close range photogrammetry? how do I get real world accuracy to put in manually? distance camera <> object is 1m, so default accuracy setting of 10m seems a bit much.
Thanks

General / camera calibration window: what to look for?
« on: February 27, 2024, 03:13:19 PM »
camera calibration window: should these figures in adjusted tab become close to zero during optimization? is that the purpose? Closer to zero is better? And what can be done to improve this? I'm using the bundle adjustments (uncertainty, accuracy and error),  the optimization steps should improve the camera calibration, but what am I supposed to be looking for in this camera calibration window?
Thanks

General / newbie question; coordinate information not available. now what?
« on: February 27, 2024, 10:37:09 AM »
I reed in forum and manual much about coordinate information from images. But I use close range photogrammetry with turntable, so no GPS location that is usefull I think. Does this mean I can't use GCP ground control points? Or are targets on my object the GCPs?
Thanks
Hans
