General / markers in the new version 2.0.1

 Is it normal, that in the new version of Metashape, the flags of the markers are white? If I remember correctly, in the old version, they were blue

Hi,
I have to create orthophotos from a series of cores.
the cores are inside a box shaped like a 1 meter long parellelepiped.
the point cloud of the box and the cardboard appears deformed by a curvature. why does this happen?
overlap of about 75%.



devo creare ortofoto di una serie di carotaggi.
i carotaggi sono all'interno di una scatola a forma di parellelepipedo di 1 metro di lunghezza.
la nuvola di punti della scatola e del cartaggio appaiono deformate da una curvatura. perchè accade questo?
sovrapposizione di circa il 75%.

General / how to create a point of origin?

I am photographing the surface of a series of concrete blocks in 3D, one by one.
How do I create a common origin for all models, with Agisoft?

I constructed a frame where emplace concrete brick, and then all the blocks are in the same position.

I would like to orient the surfaces of all the blocks in the same way between them, and give a zero point to the cloud of points (for example, the angle at the top left).

Is it possible? and if so, how?

General / Problem with merged chunk

I have two chunk
one with Reprojection error 1.2 and the oteher with r.err. 0.8

After aligning them with the geo-referencing and merged into a single chunk.
The Reprojection error flew to 80!
And the error of georeferencing has worsened considerably, from 18 cm to 90 cm.
Why? How can I avoid this problem?

In an old post, Asmordean writes as follows:
If you've saved the project file (It'll be a .PSZ file) you can open it with 7Zip, it's a ZIP file.

Look for the "doc.xml" file.  Open it up in a text editor like Notepad++ or Notepad2.  The line <location path="filename.jpg" /> is what you're after.  You might be able to edit it to <location path="\\networkpc\directory\filename.jpg" />, though I've not tried that (no network at home).

If there are a lot of photos, use Search & Replace. Search for:
<location path="
Replace with:
<location path="newdirectory

After you edit it just put it back into the ZIP file (replace the old one).

I wouldn't mind seeing a "Save with photos" option.  It would be a huge file for some things but would make the PSZ 100% portable.

I found this when I was toying with structured light.   I take one with the projection and a second with just white light.  I align the structured light photos then edit the doc.xml file to replace all the photos with the white light ones and build the texture so I don't get all colour noise as a texture.  Works quite well, as long as you don't bump anything.

General / infite orthophoto

from a Merged chunk of an area 500 meters x 650 meters ( 457 photos taken with sony nex 5n,  ) I try to obtain a orthophoto, but after a night of work,  the process only at 2 % and less 438 hours!

My pc have 12 GB of ram and 64 bit W7

I tried to cut, the point clouds, in five small box but the process is very slow, too.

Do you have some ideas? For a more quick orthophoto?

General / Aligment problem with turntable

Hi,

I tried to align some pictures.
I put the sample( murex) on the center of a turntable. I taken 25 pictures on the 360°
I created on Photoshop a mask and imported, for all photos, in photoscan.
I aligned , High - disabled. After with medium , and with low , another time with low  and now it's Ok!

I tried with generic , whit the same mistake

how to avoid this problem?
