General / Splitting model for higher resolution?
« on: September 04, 2013, 04:35:07 PM »
I've taken around 500 images of Skara Brae World Heritage site and created a single chunk model in PS at a mesh resolution of 3.5 million polys - the results are good.  I can only however create a texture of 12000px which is not high enough.  Should I split the model into components to achieve a higher texture resolution?  How does one then join them?
In 3DS Max I have retopologised the model (which took some time!) for cleanup, sculpting and some additions and then Render to Texture'd the bitmap with new UV's. This is such a long process and certainly not perfect,  is there any advice on making this rather more automatic?

General / Interior Photography Best Practise?
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:13:42 PM »
Up until now all my photogrammetry work has involved objects, tomorrow that will change!  I have a heritage roofless interior to scan and would like any tips on best practice.  I've read conflicting ideas about this; firstly to move around the perimeter of the interior pointing towards the centre, and secondly, to keep a set distance from the perimeter (shooting out).  Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
Thanks J

General / texture export problem
« on: December 15, 2011, 03:00:39 PM »
Hello,
Im again having problems with texture export.  Using 47 photographs the model built quite well however the texture is not building well at all.  I have tried Orthophoto and Adaptive Orthophoto with Min, Max, Average and Mosaic settings but all fail to create something useable.  Attached is a scrrenshot of the scene and texture, (set to Adaptice Orthophoto and Max).
Thanks
P.S. on other models the texture builds fine but it is still quite low quality in comparison to (now)123D.  I prefer Agisofts control and mesh building but texture for me is an issue.  I have been combining Agosoft geometry with 123D texture which is not ideal!

General / Texture Export Issue
« on: October 13, 2011, 04:36:00 PM »
Having constructed a fairly decent topological model from 195 photos in a single build I have a problem with the texture export, (see attached).  There is a lot of blurring and detail missing that is present on the model in the viewport.  I have tried high quality and mosaic but to no avail.  Is this something that can be fixed?

General / Texture Export problem
« on: May 16, 2011, 07:41:21 PM »
Hi, Firstly, great piece of software and thanks for making it so available.
Ive created a textured model that Im happy with yet when using the texture export in 3DS Max my UVW co-ordinates are a mess.  I perhaps expected to just apply the basic texture to imported obj.  in Max without having to unwrap UVW.  Am I missing something?
