General / Reinstalling Agisoft
« on: July 24, 2014, 02:54:02 AM »
Alexey,

My computer (with Agisoft installed) crashed.  If I can't recover the disk,  how do I reinstall Agisoft on another computer?  Don't I need to uninstall it first?

Hello,
I have a question relating to application behavior that I experience (at times) using Agisoft Photoscan Professional.  In these cases,  it /appears/ Agisoft Photoscan Pro cannot Align the provided photos.  As proof of this,  I see no points in the model viewer.  As a sanity check I also run Agisoft Standard and   I am able to Align the same photoset (meaning that I can see the points in the viewer).

Note that it might be the case that I am somehow configuring Agisoft Photoscan Professional incorrectly.  But I have no idea what would cause this behavior.

Any help would be much appreciated.

General / coded targets question
« on: January 23, 2014, 07:21:05 AM »
Hello,

I am (unsuccessfully) testing the use of coded targets. More specifically, I have printed out coded targets, incorporated them into my scene and cannot seem to get them detected.  I'm SURE I'm doing something wrong so I tried a very simple test.  First,  print out a page of six targets.  Second, tape the page to the floor.  Third, take a picture of the page and add the picture to a new project/chunk.  Finally, run detect markers.  Still...nothing happens.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Gideon

General / testing "minimal" resolution required for a particular application
« on: September 06, 2013, 06:53:10 PM »
Dear Agisoft Group (and Alexey)

I am building a proprietary system where we will be reconstructing objects that are outdoors (and thus subject to adverse weather conditions).  As the camera will be required to operate for long periods of time (without failing), we're likely use a machine vision camera.

My question to you is as follows. As MV cameras are expensive and tend to be much lower resolution than consumer or professionals, we'd like to buy the minimal resolution that we need (and no more). For example, let's say we wanted to run some back-of-the-envelope tests to "simulate" how a low resolution MV camera would perform.  Would it be a reasonable first test to configure a standard consumer camera to capture images in low resolution mode and review the resulting 3d reconstruction?  I understand this type of test doesn't account for the choice of MV lens...but I want to get some preliminary insights.

Please let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks,
GV
