Face and Body Scanning / 3D Scanning for animation, techniques and examples
« on: September 16, 2016, 05:27:33 PM »
Hello, it's been a while since I visited the forums.

Just wanted to check what techniques you use for scanning for animation.
I've combined some quick techniques in a post about it here: https://www.markflorquin.be/portfolio/building-a-3d-scanner//

Anything to add or improve/change? Would love to hear!

Have a nice day!

Face and Body Scanning / Cross polarized light Scanner Build + Results
« on: October 18, 2015, 02:16:26 PM »
Hello

I'm constantly scanning, learning and improving Photogrammetry setups. I'm using SLR's for years now, and still enjoy their high quality results, in conjunction with Agisoft. Of course :)

My current 3D scanning setup does cross polarized and regular light texture capture simultaneously. And motion capture.

Bug Reports / Masking from background error (inverted)
« on: September 25, 2013, 03:04:31 PM »
Hi,

I've noticed on some projects, masks generated from background sometmetimes are inverted, or just unefficient. (See attachment). It happens on 1.0 and 0.9 versions of Agisoft.

On most scans (full body) it works flawless however. I'm using a unique foldername structure in order to accomodate for identical filenames. Masks are generated from an empty green background, 6 cameras.

What is cuasing this behaviour is a mystery to me. Can you help?

Thanks,

Mark

General / X-Ray Rontgen 3D scanner using Agisoft

Hi there!

I' ve constructed a Full body 3D scan showing the bones inside using R?ntgen captures. The pictures were processed using Agisoft. Read the article here: http://bit.ly/10h9xSG

Face and Body Scanning / Turntable based Full body capture rig
« on: January 24, 2013, 05:10:38 AM »
The past few days, I've been busy building a turntable based photogrammetry rig. I've encountered a few issues with synchronization, lighting, apart from the post work and eventually got better. You can read all about it here: https://www.markflorquin.be/portfolio/building-a-3d-scanner/.

I hope it will provide useful information on building your own 3D capture rigs.

Enjoy!

General / New Agisoft project: Camera mapping
« on: November 29, 2012, 12:36:21 AM »
Hi Scanners,

Today the making of video of Skullmapping's newest projection "Thinking out of the box was released.

I did the scanning of the character and the landscape using Agisoft Photoscan. Hope you enjoy:

Face and Body Scanning / Agisoft headscan setup idea with example
« on: October 08, 2012, 03:00:19 AM »
Hi!

After experimenting with Kinect Scanning I'm back to Agisoft Photoscan!  ;D There's no texturing possible yet with Kinect and as a photographer, I like working with photographs to create 3D. I've build a 3D headscanner with a rotating arm attached to the ceiling. The camera is remotely controlled.

Enjoy! ;)

Face and Body Scanning / Scanning people: Tips needed
« on: April 02, 2012, 01:18:38 PM »
I'm trying to improve on scanning people. It's hard because they move slightly due to breathing during capturing. However I found that if the model lies down, these movements can be minimized.

Has anyone worked with multiple simultaneously triggering camera's? SLR's (best quality) are expensive . :( However, I think this solution solves the movement problem during capturing entirely.

What do you think? Share your tips...

Feature Requests / Smooth Mesh
« on: April 01, 2012, 04:59:01 PM »
A "smooth mesh" function would be nice to smooth an uneven surface in the mesh. I realise this can be done in post, but it could make a difference in fast previews for clients and the PDF-export function.
