General / Any tips for 360 photos for photogrammetry?
« on: January 24, 2019, 06:46:56 PM »
I recently picked up an Insta360 One X - and through some searching of the forum realized that equirectangular photos CAN be loaded into Metashape for processing a point cloud?? Yay!

But I can't find Spherical as an option. "switch the Camera Type from Frame (default) to Spherical"

General / fisheye processing in agisoft standard

Thanks for adding this! I'd been wanting to use my fisheye lens for photogrammetry for so long. I love this software.

Face and Body Scanning / camera stand hardware

What are the stands called that folks are using to clamp cameras onto? Looking for a rough part list as I might invest in a 5 camera setup that all attach to a single stand.

Thanks

General / 4d processing comments
« on: August 16, 2015, 12:52:59 AM »
So I'm testing out the demo version of Photoscan Pro, a few comments as I try to work out 4d processing:

- I wish the play button turned into the pause, instead of having the pause as a second button next to play. In the Timeline.
- Large amounts of photos (1,000+), delay in loading/previewing. Maybe it's just that their preview images haven't loaded and that isn't stopping the start of processing? I haven't tested it fully. But it would be nice to get some sort of background progress graphic/animation of the loading/caching.
- When you stop camera matching, is it possible to review the progress it made? instead of canceling the whole batch? I wanted to test a 30 second capture. But I'm afraid if it only gets halfway before I run out of patience, I won't be able to stop processing and review the 15 seconds that were matched. [I also need to look at network processing to help speed that up!]
- How important is EXIF data? I'm taking video feeds and exporting them into image sequences. Would there be a downside to this?

I'll follow up as I keep tinkering

Thanks!

General / Photoscan Standard - object orientation?
« on: March 18, 2014, 07:29:56 PM »
Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn't find any answers in my searching

Is it possible to do basic object rotating/orienting before export? I see there's a button to rotate the object, but does something need to be done afterward to commit this to the export?

I thought I had rotated my object to be oriented, but the FBX brought the model in at what i think was the odd angle it has originally meshed at.

thoughts?

I'm working with photos of an interior and wanted to try and align the floor roughly with the virtual ground - I usually do it in my 3d program afterwards, but I thought if I could get it done in photoscan and the cameras might be usable later.

thanks

Face and Body Scanning / 3d portraits

Hey, just wanted to share a little something I've been doing with the software.  Whenever I can I try to get friends and family to pose for me to shoot them.  I'm thinking maybe I could make a series or do something with them --

General / fisheye lens issue
« on: August 08, 2011, 02:54:40 AM »
Has anyone had issues with using wide angle lens pictures? In my limited experiments the software has not been able to automatically construct a scene with fisheye (15mm) pictures as it has with a 35mm lens. Not if it has to do with the extreme distortion or the exif data.

my setup
5D Mark II with:
canon 15mm fisheye lens
canon 35mm lens

I can post examples if necessary
