Feature Requests / Marker point order broken.
« on: October 25, 2014, 04:08:49 PM »
Hi Agisoft,

Please can we have the old method of marker point order. Now if we delete markers to add again, the number sequence continues from the last deleted point. Where as before it would reset to 1. Please can we have an option to reset to 1 or revert back to this?

Thanks,
Lee

Feature Requests / Reset View + Focus On Region
« on: October 17, 2014, 11:02:02 AM »
Hi Agisoft,

Please can we have a button so we can zoom in on the polygon mass, chunk, scan or region box.

At the moment Reset View is pretty useless to focus the orbit around the working scan.

Thanks,
Lee

Bug Reports / EXIF data being ignored in Photos pane.
« on: October 11, 2014, 04:55:30 PM »
Hello Agisoft,

It seems on certain machines that EXIF data being ignored in Photos pane. So Portraits shots in the Photos pane are being rendered in landscape.

Hi Agisoft.

It appears in the latest release that Tick boxes for Reference/Cameras and Markers and Scale Bars broken. They do not work. It's therefore hard to add scale markers and reset scene scale.

I've also seen reports of 2x GTX980 SLI machines freezing during reconstruction. 1x GTX980 works fine.

Feature Requests / Region Orientation, no fine control..
« on: January 25, 2014, 02:53:52 PM »
Would it be possible to get finer control over the region box orientation?

As it's our only method to have control over scene orientation and position using a script, we really need finer incremental control over it. At the moment when adjusting the rotation, the increments are just too large and it's VERY hard to do fine adjustments when using the region box to position and rotate a scene using "Coordinates to bounding box + rotate" script and the region box..

The same goes for the viewport, the rotational increments are very wild and too large for fine control.

Would this be possible?

This Monday the UK had some very bad storms. Where I live we suffered allot of power cuts. 12 hours without power.

I have 4x master PC's processing 24/7, 7 days a week. Any kind of power surge our power outage can be very problematic if your PC crashes or resets during a save of a large Agisoft file.

I mostly set up large .psz scenes with on average 10-20x chunks in each, full body scans. 118x images in each chunk, built to 7 million polygon scans, with dense point cloud, masks and textures these can grow to be very large files. They start to get slower and slower during each save, the longer the save the more chance of a crash of PC reset during save, corrupting the file and damaging all chunks. This is a big problem.

I would like to propose a method to have a master .psz that references in individual .psz chunks. Each time Photoscan saves, it will save just that one chunk (named what ever the chunk is named) as a .psz. Instead of one giant .psz. That way if we have a crash or reset only that one chunk is damaged.

Any thoughts on this?

It would be great to have "remove texture" from 3D Model moved to main Chunk "remove" menu on the Workspace menu system, so we can easily batch remove textures from scans if we need to.

Currently we have to remove by hand one by one on each chunk, going down the hierarchy to select. Why not have the option with:

Remove Masks
Remove Depth Maps
Remove Dense Clouds
Remove Models

Remove Textures?

It would save some time when trimming or preparing files. Decimate can do this but we may not want to decimate.

Thanks, Lee

Feature Requests / Generate Masks from Dense Point Cloud
« on: September 04, 2013, 03:54:13 AM »
Now that we have Dense Point Cloud integrated, which can be very useful for cleaning up stray points, or webbing areas. Being able to generate "Generate Masks from Dense Point Cloud" along side the current "Generate Masks from Model" could be very powerful to have.

Thanks.

Feature Requests / Exporting data across a network. Slow.
« on: August 11, 2013, 12:00:20 AM »
Please excuse me if this has been posted this before.

There seems to be some strange bug when exporting data across a network, be it meshes or textures. It crawls to a really slow pace and takes 10 times as long to complete, than if you save to your machines local drive. Yet other applications like Softimage, Mudbox, ZBrush work fine exporting.

Photoscan seems fine saving across a network, although still a little slow.

Hi Agisoft,

I noticed today that if we activate "Show Aligned Chunks" it's not possible to multi-select across those visible chunks cameras (in the Model 3D viewport) to disable or enable them.

This could be very useful in certain circumstances. For now we have to go into each chunk select the cameras and disable, one by one.

Key Mapping

A mapped key would also be useful for "disable"

In fact a full key mapping database would be very powerful!

Thanks,

Feature Requests / Align Chunks by Camera 'threshold'
« on: August 06, 2013, 08:50:34 PM »
Hi,

I have a suggestion for a user setting to define Align Chunks by Camera 'threshold'.

I often find when aligning chunks by camera using a master chunk that some scenes that have maybe 1-5 bad camera alignments (not seeing enough points and being in a random location during alignment phase) can effect the overall average alignment, normally they have to either be deleted or camera reset and restart the align chunks by camera procedure again.. It would be good to set a 'threshold' or distance between cameras. So when Photoscan does it's align chunks by camera calculation, any cameras that are outside of that threshold or distance are ignored and thus don't impact the overall average alignment.

Feature Requests / Strip Markers command.

A Strip Markers command would be most useful. Either in Tools or by right click on Chunk(s) (with Multiple Select) as 'Remove Markers'

Camera selection, highlights main points from point cloud in Model workspace?

Not sure if this is possible? but again good for bug fixing in some situations.

UI. Blue cameras placeholders, replaced with thumbnail of photographs (or setting to turn on or off)

As the title suggest.

Similar to other photogrammetry applications, instead of just blue rectangle placeholders for camera placement, perhaps an option to graphically replace with mini thumbnails of the actual photographs? This can be very useful for many reasons.

1) Aesthetics, Visually looks pleasing.

2) Bug fixing anything to do with the scene, camera alignment (customers and clients would love this)

3) helps to identify certain images easily and quickly

This idea is combined with this feature request also - > http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=980.0

Feature Requests / Auto resize Region
« on: January 17, 2013, 01:52:51 AM »
I wonder if it might be useful to implement a feature to auto re-size region bounding box to the most optimum scale based on visible points? I notice allot, that the size of region can affect build times. Larger region = longer processing times.

If users cull points to what they need, perhaps an auto re-size to most optimum scale might be useful? to save users having to scale, position and orient region bounding box? as well as using the most optimum space.
