Feature Requests / Re: COPC .laz support for exporting point cloud
« on: July 16, 2023, 12:17:16 PM »
andyroo > it means that cloudcompare and LASzip will open a COPC as a traditional *.laz file, there will no support of spatial access or levels of detail which are some of the main benefits of copc.

Feature Requests / Re: Add field list when importing references

Alexey, thanks ! no, I didn't, I have been using, reading the manuals and translating the ui for quite a long time and never thought about doing a right click on the header

Feature Requests / Add field list when importing references
« on: June 06, 2023, 11:01:18 AM »

When dealing with a csv with many columns, the process of assigning the number of the column for each field is painful. It would be a delight to have a list widget to select them or, at least, have the column's number in the header row.

spader > copc's support by cloudcompare isn't planned as the new 2.3 las/laz loader is rebased on laszip which currently lacks it

The DEM editing introduced in Metashape 2.0 is a start but it is limited to only one product (DEM), could it be extended to the 3D Mesh ?

For your information, the PROJ project has several comments about the way Agisoft handles the transformation grids :

General / Re: Loading 3D tiled models in QGis
« on: April 03, 2022, 07:12:25 PM »
QGIS does not support any tiled mesh format and will not in the foreseeable future, it is based on Qt 5/Qt 3D which have a limited support of gltf and 3d features required for efficiently display these dataset. The only 3D tileset supported is point cloud since 3.18 with the tiled formats EPT, LAZ COPC will be supported in 3.26.

sfmdd > it would not adress Eric's point, if the depthmap stage has not been fully achieved there is no easy way to resume this part of the task or the whole task.

Bug Reports / Re: Processed thumbnails load too slowly
« on: November 03, 2021, 01:24:09 PM »
does having a single zip for thumbnails by chunk is a real space saver ? The decompression had a noticeable delay at opening with +100k files in a PSX project.

Feature Requests / Re: Extend Reduce overlap to DEM for ortho production
« on: August 10, 2021, 10:22:47 AM »
All the non-nadir images can be disabled but even with only nadir images in the chunk, the reduce overlaps over a mesh will keep more than needed to cover as much vertical faces as needed.

Feature Requests / Extend Reduce overlap to DEM for ortho production
« on: August 06, 2021, 11:50:47 AM »

Up to now, the reduce overlaps feature only works with a generated 3D mesh as a basis, not a DEM. For us it would be useful to accelerate the production of orthophotography where we would discard all the axis but the nadir.

If we do it with the generated mesh and the nadir images, the overlap algorithm will keep a bigger amount of images to cover the vertical faces which are not needed for the ortho end product. Basing it on a DEM would improve the rate of reduction and speed up the next steps of processing.

Feature Requests / Re: Add AVIF support

The dimension limit you are mentioning must belongs to the implementation you are using, I just encoded  an avif 10336x7788 with aom/avifenc

Feature Requests / Update gdal export
« on: December 09, 2020, 10:53:24 AM »
Hi, with GDAL 3.2 it is now possible to benefit from
- multithreading when doing an tiff export with a JPEG compression
- multithreading when computing the overviews
- faster deflate compression/decompression through libdeflate

these features would speed up the export of orthomosaïcs

libavif is providing avifenc and avifdec, it is developed by netflix under a BSD license :

Our benchmarks shows an excellent ssim rating when we aim to halve the file size of a JPEG source (Q99), it is possible to go lower without noticeable loss.
