General / Re: Double Sony ILX-LR1

The complete setup is hung on the two-axis gimbal. Have no better idea of how to handle a steep climb of 30° when the plane can climb just 10°. The area that we must fly over is huge. The planned flights with a side overlap of 70% is about 4000 km. No way to use something like a small drone. We have M300 and M350 equipped with the P1 cameras and one M3E. The plan is to cover the area with the manned aircraft and later just fill in the populated places with the drones. The job is in the north Adriatic, Island of Cres, Lošinj, and a few smaller ones. I've done smaller Islands like Susak, Ilovik, etc. with the M3E with fine results but Cres is too big with no roads or places to take off with the drone and regulations are the problem as well.
Some other company have already made that aerial shooting for us on some other bigger islands and they also used a professional strictly rigid double camera flown on 1000+m AGL. The results were good. The price of one flight covers the price of all our equipment and maybe the used small airplane. For this job, we have a rented one with the pilot and I have invested in their Auto Pilot that's been installed and tested.

We are planning to make a smaller single-flight test and if that comes out fine, good. If not the option is a single camera with 50mm Zeiss Loxia lens and flight on 700m AGL.
Best regards

And, my flight is 1100m AGL.. Which is much safer than 280m that we used to fly with Loxia 21mm. Results were fine but the terrain was much more even and easy to follow.

Thanks, JMR,
I appreciate your opinion. The 85mm has been used for flights with manned aircraft (ultralight) and a ground resolution of 5cm. The 85 has been used to avoid large changes in ground resolution since the terrain is very uneven and it is hard to follow it precisely. Two cameras will be used just to get a wider swath with the single flight line. With two cameras I can cover about 850m instead of 475m and the distance between my flight lines changes from 150 to 250m (70% side overlap) which is significant.
What do you think about that?

Hi,
I am planning to use two Sony ILX-LR1 cameras equipped with Zeiss Loxia 85mm lens in simultenious triggering mode. The cameras will be rigidly mounted one in front of the other and leaned from the vertical axis for 10 deg left and right. The planned overlap between cameras will be about 10%. Is it an acceptable way of widening the field of view? In case I can use it in such a way my field of view would be 44 deg instead of 24 that has a single camera, is this OK?

Yes, you must be right. The only problem is that it takes days for alignment and that's why I have chosen the lowest setup. I'll redo it again and wait for a week and see the results. Do you have any suggestions for the alignment setup?
Since I have estimated coordinates for my cameras that are somewhat good, what do you think about including those coordinates in the alignment process? The first alignment was done without camera coordinates, just GCP's.

Hello,

Have you tried to draw lines and points in Agisoft Viewer? Import the 3D tls model (created and exported by Metashape) , create an active vector layer, and draw whatever you want using the underlying 3D Tls model . Later just save the layer in DXF and here you are, in CAD program again.

The other way I am doing it is Virtual Surveyor, google it.

General / Orthomosaic missalignement
« on: November 21, 2024, 04:52:32 PM »
Hi,

I have a serious problem with the huge job that consists of 50.000 61Mpix photos. Alignment has been done with the Lowest setting and only 4000 Key and Tie points. Since I had a problem with my GNSS for that procedure I've used 150 CP's. It took 3 days to finish it resulting in 10.000.000 points in sparse cloud which was managable. The problem appeared in Orthomosaic with some misaligned lines on the roads that I couldn't patch.
Is there some simple procedure to align those unpatchable parts?

Best regards,

General / Re: Selection of Model by elevation??
« on: October 30, 2024, 03:12:21 PM »
Hello,
I have the same problem since my latest project is on the seashore I would like to select all the points with elevation lower than, let's say, -1m. Since the points are on the seafloor I would like to erase them.  Any idea?

Agisoft Viewer / Snaping tools

Hello,
Is there a function that would allow us to continue the old polyline or snap to point, endpoint, or any vertex?

Agisoft Viewer / NEW PRODUCT
« on: June 13, 2024, 04:29:08 PM »
Dear Alexey,

It is a shame to have such a fine Viewer and not to add more possibilities.  Why don't you make some new product like Agisoft 3D Editor for 3D model vectorization with better CAD functions and sell it separately? I know that there is a lot of functionality in Metashape but Viewer works so neat and fast that it would be much better for drafting and editing of vectors in such an environment.
Have you ever thought about that?

Best regrads,
Darko

Thanks, Aleksey.

You were right, it's been solved in this latest version.

Agisoft Viewer / Cesium Tiles and ContextCapture 3MX in Viewer
« on: May 29, 2024, 12:58:39 PM »
Hi,
Cesium tiles created by the Viewer or Metashape are fine but the problem is Cesium created by ContextCapture. Is there any suggestion or way to make them work better?
Honestly, I need the conversion from ContextCapture mesh model (3mx or Cesium Tiles - better 3Mx) to TLS. When I try to load 3MX into the Agi Viewer only the first tile is loaded so I cannot make the conversion.

Dear Alexey,
It is not working. Am I making some mistake? The Viewer version is 2.0.1.  build 16069.

Dear friends,
It would be nice to have the ability to rotate the view while in drawing mode. Something like Ctrl  + Pick for view rotation.

Best regards,
Darko

Agisoft Viewer / Re: Navigation in Viewer
« on: April 04, 2023, 12:14:25 PM »
Hi,
As I mentioned in my other post about the Viewer, I am really happy with it. The only problem that I have is that I don't know how to rotate the view while in the vectorization tool, point, line or polygon. This is important feature since the polygon goes around the building and cannot be done in one view.
