Feature Requests / Re: Add Scale bar option during ortophoto export
« on: December 21, 2019, 10:08:06 AM »
This is an issue that makes it difficult to work with Metasheep - the inability to produce and export a facade or section with a scale perpendicular to the ground, in an easy and friendly way.

This topic made me work with competing software that provides a theme-friendly solution, even though I prefer to work with MetaShape in any other aspect.
The improvement needed for the problem can be:

1. A function of creating a facade in a desirable direction by marking the cut line, rather than by markers, which greatly complicate the work process.
2. Export of facade or section (one or more) with a scale bar.
3. Export of section Plan with a Scale.

Thanks,
David

General / Long processing time for a TLS model on 1.6.0
« on: October 24, 2019, 10:27:20 AM »
Hello,

When making a TLS model of a statue from 591 images on version 1.6.0 build 9397, it takes more than 12 hours (I stoped the processing after 12 hours).
The same project with the same parameters on version 1.5.5 took about 4 hours.

Best Regards,
David

Feature Requests / Multiple sections feature
« on: September 19, 2018, 09:11:20 AM »
Hello Agisoft team,

A very useful function to add to Agisoft would be the ability to export a number of Orthomosaic in an intuitive and fast manner, from a single file.

The functions could be:
1. Setting the cutting plane intuitively and precisely, with the marking of the cutting plain and its direction (the 3 Marker option is not intuitive and very uncomfortable)
2. Add a scale to each Orthomosaic
3. Adding the ability to make multiply orthomosaics from one file.
4. creat a map  showing the location and direction of the orthomosaic.
These capabilities will save a lot of work time and the need to work with external software or competative software .

Thanks,
David

Does anyone know an app that can perform these three operation together on a phantom 4 pro:

1. take RAW pictures
2. fly a double grid
3. take pictures at 45 degrees

I tested pix4dcapture, and it cannot take RAW pictures

Hello Alexey,

What is the best way to create an orthomosaic of a building elevation. I tried to to use planar projection by markers, but could not get a good result.

Thanks,
David

« on: May 03, 2016, 04:47:18 PM »
Hi guys,

I am buying a new workstation - the Supermicro 7048GR-TR  with:

256 GB 2400MHz DDR4
3 * GPU 980TI
IntelĀ® SSD DC P3700 800GB

Which of the two Processors  is better for big Agisoft projects: E5-2697 v4  or  E5 - 2687W V4 ?

Thanks,
David

Hello,

Is it possible to export Orthomosaic with contour lines?
that would be very helpful for me and my customers.

Thanks

General / New workstation specifications
« on: April 15, 2015, 10:09:34 AM »
Hello,

I use PS and Rhino for documentation of historical building and archeology.
an average project has 1000-1500  photos, 20-36mp.
Its time to buy a new Xeon workstation for maximum proformanc.

the new system spec:

1. HP Z840 workstation
2. Xeon E5-2643v3 3.4 2133 6C
3. 192GB DDR4-21332CPU RegRAM
4. Taitan X
5. HP Z Turbo Drive 512GB PCIe 1st SSD

the cost of the system in our place is about 10,500$
I have read many posts in the forum, but I still have some doubts:

1. is upgrading to Xeon 2687W worth the extra cost?
2. is the PCI-E ssd drive worth the extra cost, or a fast ssd is OK?
3. is Taitan X the best choice?
5. is win 7 pro the best OS for PS

Thanks for the response,

General / How to delete double images
« on: January 15, 2015, 09:48:42 AM »
When merging two chunks, the result is double images in the merged chunk, and it takes me a long time to delete the double images one by one.
Is there a way to delete all the double images at once?

thanks,
Davis

Thanks Alexey,

it worked  :)

Is there any advantage in using a gps unit with the d800 for creating a 3D model of a building? will it make the photo align faster?

thanks,
Davis
