Are you sure the 5D Mk3 CR2 files are displayed correctly?
Because i get the same problem with every CR2 file (or DNG converted file) from Canon DSLR (including 5D Mk2/Mk3/Mk4):

This is interesting!
would it be possible to load a local geoid (ASCII Geoid Height Grid File) somehow?

Since all the survey of the markers is done based on that geoid large areas would give better results right?

I need to retain all information... the original Raw files are 14bit, so going down to 8bit means to loose information...
I'm sorry, I don't get why CR2 or DNG from Canon still don't work, I guess there might be some proprietary pixel-layout or something, but I can't be the only one needing this...

Hi, i just tried the new 1.3.1 update, but sadly still no progress on the CR2 / DNG files from canon...
The 16bit tiff files are eating up my hdd´s!
And before anyone tells me that jpg´s are almost the same:
yes they are, but if you look at the noise of the dense cloud in the shadows you see a big difference!

G O O D      N E W S !

Temporary Build 3943 finally seems to resolve the "line 67" and line "line 86" issues on my test machine!
Also at first look the additional noise issue of build 3884 seems to be gone...
And last but not least i'm finally able to see a performance increase thanks to CUDA of aprox. 30% to OPENCL (v1.2.6)...

I hope I don't find any more surprises!

Same issue on my test-machine with the temporary build 3921 !
I will try to make another test with temporary build 3943 but i'm running out of patience...

I can't afford to loose any more time on this, i have set up an old unused machine to run this tests, but i feel like this is taking way too long to fix... why didn't you extensively test this before official release?
The "line67" bug is known for a month now!  :o

Sorry guys, as much as i admire your work so far, you really messed up this time!

Hi,
I suggest you try the following:
- place the markers immediately after image alignment (before generating dense cloud or mesh)

This way, after the first 2 pictures the assumed position is shown with the gray "smoke" symbol (or however it's called) and it adjusts better and better as you proceed...

After placing all the markers in all the photos you optimize alignment and proceed with the workflow, this has given me the best results.

Hi,
just to let you know about the progress:

Agisoft is apparently addressing the issue...
Alexey has sent me (and probably some other users) a temporary build 3884 which seems to have multiple different issues...
(I will not discuss them here, as a temporary build is not an official release, i discuss this via private message with Alexey)

All i can say, is that now i don't get an error message, but instead my computer crashes and reboots...  :o

Can someone please share his experience?

Hi, i fear this issue is not taken serious enough!

By doing some tests on 5 different computers (all with different Nvidia cards) i can reproduce the issue every time i want...  :-\

It seems to me, that you just have to go high enough with the settings, or increase the dataset for the problem to occur!
(or low enough for it not to happen - depends on your point of view)

When generating the dense cloud with ultra high settings and moderate filtering it consistently fails:

I know this is a low-spec-pc, but i'm out of time testing on our production machines...
I assure you even our dual-xeon, nvidia quadro workhorse has the same issue!

Needless to say it works fine once i reinstalled the previous version 1.2.6

I strongly suggest a rollback or at least a switch in the settings to use OpenCL again instead of CUDA!

While being an amazing Software for photogrammetry, the biggest challenge in PhotoScan is cleaning up a dense cloud and classify it to get a proper DTM.
While the automatic classification algorithm is doing a good job, there is always some (often a lot) manual work to do.

I had the chance to work with Global Mapper for a while, and one feature that was very helpful was the ability to view a cross-section of a point cloud and the ability to select points from there to be modified and classified. Long story short: you define a cross section path and a range (example +-0.5m) and all the points lying in this slice are viewed in a cross-section window. From there you can select points and edit them.

In the attached screenshot i generated a length-profile with a cross-section every 1m...
