Feature Requests / Add "Delete" function to the Gradual Selection UI
« on: March 19, 2021, 04:31:00 PM »
I find the amount of steps and clicks it takes to prune my sparse cloud using the gradual selection tool one of the most tedious part of my workflow.  What would be awesome is a DELETE button right there in the Gradual Selection UI so you could simply step through the different types of selection and delete points as you go vs having to select, close, delete, open gradual selection again, repeat. etc.

Feature Requests / UI Suggestion - Buttons vs Dropdowns
« on: March 19, 2021, 04:28:28 PM »
I find that the change a few years back to Dropdowns for things like selection and translation modes is very counterproductive when it comes to working fast.  Yes, it looks all pretty...but the amount of time and clicks it takes to switch between modes is MUCH more cumbersome than simply clicking on a single icon in the toolbar.  There's a LOT of empty space along the top of the UI so it's not the the dropdowns avoid over-crowding.  To me it seems like a cosmetic choice for UX jollies vs really thinking about how it impacts the users how have to click on these buttons hundreds of times a day.  Anyone else agree?

Although the new drop-down menus for selection and transform modes LOOK great, it was much quicker to be able to click on the desired icon.  Now you have to click twice...once to drop down the menu and then a second time to pick the mode.  The menu bar is not really that crowded, so to force these items into drop-downs to save some horizontal space, for me, is not worth the added clicks.  It was much faster and intuitive for me the old way.  Can we get an option to use the old UI where the icons are simply laid out across the top and not buried inside drop-downs?  Thanks!

General / Color Correction Process - 32bit only?
« on: April 02, 2015, 03:56:32 AM »
It appears the color correction stage of the texture processing caps out at 3.9gb of memory, even though I have 64gb available.  Is this process running as 32bit?

It would also be really nice to be able to CANCEL this process without the need to kill Agisoft exe via task manager.

General / Re: Dell Workstation Configuration help!
« on: November 03, 2014, 06:04:58 PM »
Be sure to price out a refurb Dell on the outlet store before buying.  Usually the same specs can be found for about 60% of t he new price and with same warranty.  Also, check out a place called shopezit.com.  They sell refurb HP and Dell workstations and offer great support.  I bought my Dell T7610 from them a few months ago and have been super happy.

General / Jpegs and Color Space?
« on: November 03, 2014, 06:02:48 PM »
Quick question about Agisoft Photoscan...Does anyone know if there is a preferred color space for 8bit jpegs to use for model creation?  sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB?  I know 16bit Tiff is always best, but I often use jpeg for non-critical work to save drive space, memory requirements and processing time.  Everything I've done with jpegs up until now has been exported from Lightroom as sRGB, but I'm curious if there is any benefit in Photoscan by using a wider gamut color space.

Thanks,
Mitch

Feature Requests / Support for 4 character file extensions
« on: September 20, 2014, 06:02:47 PM »
Can we please get support on the Win version for images with 4 letter extensions such as .tiff and .jpeg?   Other apps we use insist on saving or loading files named this way,  so it would be great not having to always make a copy of image sequences and renaming to work in Photoscan.

Thanks,
Mitch

Feature Requests / Solid color for sparse/dense points?
« on: August 21, 2014, 12:37:29 AM »
Would it be possible to add an option to display the sparse and dense point cloud points as a user defined solid color instead of the source image color?  This would be helpful in visualizing overall cloud shape as well as selecting errant points that sometimes are hard to distinguish from the background.

Thanks,
Mitch

Bug Reports / Re: Undo Operation Incorrect After Add/Subtract Selection
« on: August 20, 2014, 01:34:43 AM »
Alexey,

Thanks for the reply.  I guess the behavior I was seeing is caused by the last point/mesh operation being undone which in turn makes the previous selection invalid (thus making it go away).   I guess I'll be heading over to the "feature requests" section to ask for undo/redo of selection operations now :)

Bug Reports / Undo Operation Incorrect After Add/Subtract Selection
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:35:07 AM »
If you Undo after adding or subtracting from a point selection, the operation undoes the ORIGINAL selection and not the more recent add/subtract.  For example if you select an area around the mouth of your model, the ADD to that some points in the ear the Undo, the points around mouth get deselected but points in ear remain selected.

Feature Requests / Import Mask for Multiple Selected Images
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:28:12 AM »
When you attempt to import mask from alpha with more than 1 image selected it will only work for a single image unless you choose entire chunk or project.  Quite frequently I need to import mask for a certain number of images and not the entire chunk, but the only way to do this appears to be one by one.  Can you please add the ability for this step to respect all the images you currently have selected?

Thanks,
Mitch

Feature Requests / Re: Photoscan Professional "Artist" Edition
« on: August 19, 2014, 11:19:58 AM »
#1. Optimize Alignment

#2. Markers

I understand the hesitation to "eat your young" by adding an intermediate edition, but I suspect there are a LOT of users like myself who are happy to pay some extra $$ for needed features but will probably never in a million years be able to justify the cost of the Professional edition.  This is untapped revenue.

General / Re: Developing RAW to JPEG
« on: August 18, 2014, 09:34:32 PM »
Just FYI, from tests I've done the jpg compression from Photoshop/Bridge/Lightroom is far superior to most other applications.  When set to the max quality (12), it exhibits far fewer compression artifacts than ACDSee, Nuke, XNview and a few others that I've tried.  I still use TIFF for anything super-critical, but for most things I just convert to jpeg to save drive space.
