General / Getting a new camera - need some advice
« on: June 01, 2021, 05:08:38 AM »
Hi guys

I'm currently using a Nikon D5500 with a 35mm prime lens. I've achieved pretty decent results over years. My company has a couple bigger jobs coming up. One scanning cultural artifacts and one scanning the inside on an old theatre. We will be upgrading our camera, lens and lighting.

I'm looking to get a full frame camera with a much higher resolution of at least around 50mp. Before I pull the trigger I was hoping to get some feedback on higher resolution cameras. Does anyone have a data set they would be willing to share?

Are there any favorite hi-end cameras? I originally got the D5500 specifically for photogrammetry. The new camera will primarily used for photogrammetry, but may also be tasked with making 360 panoramas and the occasional video.

Bug Reports / Dual GPU crashing system when running Metashape
« on: December 13, 2020, 11:32:55 AM »
Hi there. I am running an Nvidia 3090 (primary card) and a 1080TI. When generating dense cloud with both GPUs enabled My system will hard reset. If I just run the 1080TI, it completes the task. If I just run the 3090, it completes the task. If I am playing a game on the 3090 and running dense cloud generation on the the 1080TI my system will hard reset. PSU is a 1200watt Corsair. each card is powered by 2 individual PCI power cables (4 in total).

So far this only seems to happen in Metashape.

Temps are fine.

Any ideas?

It happens remotely(i was using google remote desktop), but it also happens locally. I have started the pc and run Agisoft all locally. No opencl devices. They were there just a few days ago when I was doing some work for a client.

I have been using a remote connection, but I read that may cause a problem, so I even tried without.  I have local access to this machine.

Hi guys, was hoping someone might have a quick fix for this problem. Basically I went to process a scan yesterday, but my Nvidia 980 is no longer showing up. It has been working fine. No drivers were updated, it just seems a bit random. Any ideas?
