General / Re: how to find processing options that generated a PSZ file

Right click on the chunk/show info. There you can find it...

Feature Requests / Nice to have features
« on: December 23, 2012, 01:17:11 PM »
After working in some few large projects I saw need for few nice to have features:

- Bounding box option to display only points within it. In large dense point cloud it can be tricky to select correct area.

- Some kind of grouping photos in sets/folders, and option to enable/disable view/hide those groups. It would save a lot of time working on really large projects with few thousands photos.

- Copy/move selected photos to chunk

- Option to invert mouse wheel

- Decrease polygons display while moving/rotating mesh. It would make big meshes move smoothly

- Decimation for given resolution not only polygon numbers.

- Custom keyboard shortcuts

Interesting tip. Thank you for your suggestion...

General / Number of points per photo
« on: December 04, 2012, 08:21:55 PM »
I have tried to model ceiling of church. On the last project all went good, but with this one I have problem. It has no texture like last one, but I have thought that it could be done because of shadows on the top. Looking at each photo I see that Photoscan doesn't even detect points in critical part. Photos are 16mpx, tiff, sharp, taken with tripod. I have tried aligning with edited as well (darker/lighter/more contrast) but all I got was worse than original. Any idea how to deal with this situation?

You can find those values under each chunk: Right click - show details...

Any details in rotation axis by Pyton? Could it be possible to rotate one axis only?

General / Re: importing mesh and cameras that match each other
« on: October 17, 2012, 04:51:26 PM »
Thank you... I'm able to export mesh WITH camera positions (to Max, and some more programs) But after editing/realigning I can jost impost mesh as obj or ply and for camera positions I don't see option to get them back.

General / importing mesh and cameras that match each other
« on: October 17, 2012, 04:27:00 PM »
After I exported mesh and realigning in external software to match desired axises i imported it back to PS. Then I have find that only two formats that are supported for import doesn't include camera data (obj, ply). So, for now there is no way I can align together mesh and camera positions. I have not been able to find any software that would allow me to export one of importable mesh file and one if the importable cameras positions (txt, xml)

Any suggestions?

So basically resized photos (half Mpx) in ultra high is the same as full res photos in high? Did I got it correctly?

General / Size of bounding box changes level of details?
« on: October 07, 2012, 10:36:20 PM »
After few tests I have noticed that I get much more detailed mesh with narrow bounding than with larger. I'm modeling some facade walls and in order to retain details I have to render in many chunks. In previous versions (before 0.9) I didn't noticed that...?

Thank you for your answer. Is it possible to adjust those settings and generate mesh with reusing depth maps or it require rebuilding depth maps?

What it would actually do? Does in theory aggressive produces smoother mesh with less noise?

General / Input resolution vs. output resolution?
« on: June 03, 2012, 11:12:47 PM »
Having some brainstorming regarding aerial mapping. If I have raw aerial photos in let's say 5cm/px, would maximum output resolution of the ortho be the same or less? After some intensive reading some sources claim that 5cm/px photos would produce 20cm/px orthos (not with PS but with traditional software). Any thoughts on this?

Hi

Just trying to understand how Photoscan works. If I process 10 12Mp pictures, would it take same time to process 5 24Mpx pictures? How are those variables related regarding different steps in process? I'm trying to make calculations for covering larger areas from air. Is it better to increase Mpx or number of images?

Looks really good. What soft do you use for animation? 3ds max?
