Hello Alex,

Can you attach the DXF with the single shape that you are applying measurements to?

See attached file .....

General / ERROR LENGTH SHAPE BETWEEN AUTOCAD AND PHOTOSCAN
« on: December 05, 2018, 03:12:47 PM »
I imported in Photoscan one shape from a dxf file created with Autocad.
In Autocad the length of the shape is 156,8402 mt (see attached file).
In Photoscan the same shape has length of 156,902 mt (see attached file).
In autocad, the polyline was created with only straight segments.
What does this difference depend on?
Perhaps because of the fact that the dense cloud processed by Photoscan was made with the WGS84 system and instead the shape was imported into a different reference system, namely ETRF2000 EPSG 6707?
Thank you very much.

Alex.

I saved the dxk file in AutoCAD R12 and then Photoscan imports it correctly.
SOLVED.

Hello Alex,

You can open coordinate system editor dialog in PhotoScan (for example, from the Reference pane settings dialog), switch to coordinate system selection, then locate EPSG::25832 system and save it as PRJ file with the same name as your DXF that you are trying to import.

Now, the error for the file .prj doesn't appear but Photoscan doesn't import shapes.
It reports to "Imported 0 shapes".
See attached files.

General / PROBLEM IMPORTING DXF FILE IN PHOTOSCAN
« on: December 04, 2018, 08:32:07 PM »
I have to import a dxf file generated with AutoCAD in Photoscan for shapes.
See the attached dxf file.
Photoscan doesn't import the shapes and tell to me that it doesn't find .prj file.
But Autocad saving dxf file doesn't create .prj file.
What can I have to do for import these file?
The system is EPSG 25832.
Thank you very much.

OK.
So for work with DEM generated with Photoscan in a GIS software it must be exported without raster palette.

The latest screenshot is again related to "Palette" raster transformation applied to the exported DEM - it contains Red, Green and Blue channels and alpha-channel with the transparency. Can you please open the DEM exported without any raster transformations applied and check the "table" view mode in the "Identify results" frame?

Is this?

Hello scannapieco,

Does it help, if you change the view mode of the "Identify results" frame from "tree" to "table"?

NO,
also in "table" mode there isn't information about elevation.
I also tried with another DEM always created with Photoscan but about another project.
Please see the attached screen capture.
I don't understand because in Photoscan I can see elevation information and I can create countours but in GIS not.
Moreover in Cloud Compare I can see the correct dense colud but also creating DEM in Cloud Compare also here I cannot view infomation about heights.
Perhaps the problem can be the dense cloud.
please help me.
I can send to technical support the project files.

Yesterday I also tried to generate the DEM without raster, as you recommend, choosing as a reference system WGS84.
I have decided to open it with QGIS, but even in this I do not see any quota information.
In these minutes I am regenerating the DEM with ETRS89 reference system without raster and leaving the data value unchanged.
I'll let you know if it works in QGIS.

Yes,
I chose "palette"
See the attached screenshot ....
....
If I don't chose "palette" what parameter I have to set in the field marked in the screenshot?

Dear Cheers,
NO....I exported DEM.
This the reason because I can't understand the problem.
I tried both with DEM in WGS84 both with a particular coordinate system.
Please help me.

General / Serious problem with DEM and GIS software
« on: December 03, 2018, 08:57:24 AM »
Hello,
I have a serious problem to solve.
After generating the dense cloud, I create the DEM with a cartographic system like for example EPSG 25832 or EPSG 6707.
When I open the DEM with a GIS I do not see any information about the elevations z despite correctly seeing the DEM and its color mapping.
I tried to generate layer curves in Photoscan and generate them normally but I need to import the DEM into any GIS software (eg QGIS) and see the z quota information.
What could be the problem?
This is a link for the DEM:

Thanks a lot.

Bug Reports / Problem with allign photos
« on: December 30, 2017, 01:19:11 AM »
Dear user,
I have a serious problem with the allign procedure of some photos of a small italian city.
I made nadir photos, oblique photos and detailed photos of the buildings.
I have to make the 3D model of the city.
During the allign procedure, the detailed photos are positioned by Photoscan at a superior quote respect the other photos (please see the screen shot attached).
What is the problem?
Best regards.

Alex S.
