General / Re: Datum Transformation / Coordinate Shift
« on: August 24, 2023, 09:10:30 PM »
I'm also in need of an answer to the shift in datum transformation parameters.  Coordinate system is EPSG:3431 ellipsoidal for the photos, EPSG:3431 with geoid 18 applied for the markers.  Ebee X processed PPK.  Systemic shift vertically is 7.0' plus or minus only a tenth so it is a systemic shift, model is good.  I'd love to just shift this using the datum transformation parameters, but when I put in -7.0 into the shift field and click ok, nothing happens.  All markers are unselected.  The error on those unselected markers (no markers are selected) should have changed by the shift amount.  But nothing happens.  If this isn't the intended functionality of the datum transformation parameters, what is their intended use?

+1 on this.  I'm tired of having to systemically shift all my photos by a few tenths, this should just be a simple shift in agisoft.

General / no tie points on road surfaces
« on: April 28, 2023, 06:07:14 PM »
For awhile now, every time I fly an area with blacktop/roads, almost no tie points are found on the road surface.  The dense cloud always looks like boiling tar on the roads.  This even goes for roads that are significantly degraded with lots of patch work which should provide plenty for the SFM to grab on to (lots of contrast).  Anyone have the same experience?  My settings for align photos is shown in one of the attached photos.  I've also attached one of the images from the flight.  Attached is an image of the sparse cloud over the road where you can see there are almost no tie points.  over lap 70%, side lap 75%.  No issues with point cloud or accuracy anywhere else other than road surfaces.  I feel like I'm just missing a setting or something.

General / detect powerlines filtering
« on: November 30, 2022, 08:54:32 PM »
I'm trying out the detect powerlines feature for the first time.  It's impressive.  However, every time I run this, filtering stage 3 gets rid of ALL the lines.  Every one of them.  When I turn on stage 2, I see lots of lines, many of them are correct.  Why is it filtering out all the lines, even the ones that are clearly correct?  There aren't any settings to change it appears for filtering.  I've set min altitude to 1m, 2m, 4m with the same results.  number of vertices per line is set to 11.  I do not have a mesh so "use model for visibility checks" is not checked.

General / Re: network parallel processing
« on: November 30, 2022, 02:00:57 AM »
It looks like if I run multiple nodes on one computer (metashape.exe --node --dispatch 10.0.48.142 --root "\\dowl.com\FWE-Projects\Reno\Survey\Aerial Processing\Agisoft Metashape"), I can run jobs simultaneously.  Can anyone see a reason this will be a problem?

General / network parallel processing
« on: November 23, 2022, 12:51:59 AM »
I've got networking processing running, and I've got it set to parallel.  However, when I send two jobs to the network, it's still only processing the jobs one by one.  From what I've read, nothing clearly describes what happens if you only have one node on your network set to parallel. Running one node on the network in parallel with two or more jobs submitted, will that node run both jobs simultaneously, or will it do them one by one?

Any solution to this?  We just set up our network server.  However, it's barely using any resources and taking absolutely forever to do anything.  CPU usage never goes over 15%, when it should be maxed out as it is on every other computer.

General / Re: Added Erosion radius option to Classify Ground Points dialog

Anyone notice that if the erosion radius is used (putting in a non 0 number), that the classify from setting is ignored?  It will classify the whole project.

General / Windows 11

Does anyone know if metashape runs on Windows 11?  I checked the manual and the forum, and no one seems to have explicitly stated that it works with Windows 11.  Thanks!

General / Dense Cloud avalanche point errors
« on: July 19, 2021, 07:06:25 PM »
Hi, I've been using metashape for aerial photogrammetry for years now.  A recent job is showing really weird errors in the dense cloud that look like avalanches almost.  It's like at a single point the error started, and then flows downhill in a triangle shape.  It's only visible when using the classify ground function.  it's also visible in the DEM as a sort of triangle shaped depression.  Because of their shape, I think it's a program error.  I'm running 1.7.3.12473.  Thanks for the help.

General / manholes
« on: September 16, 2020, 01:58:56 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm a surveyor in Nevada, and a common problem I see all the time is dipping sewer and storm manholes, specifically measuring the diameter of the pipes that may be 25+ feet below, and sometimes hidden at the bottom.  I'm quite experienced with metashape doing aerial mapping projects with drones.  I'm hoping I would be able to maybe strap a camera with a good amount of diffuse lighting to a pole, lower/rotate the pole into the manhole while continuously taking photos and build a point cloud from those photos in meta shape.  Does anyone have any experience mapping something like this?   A typical manhole is usually 4 - 6 feet in diameter.  Would some wort of fish lens work better on the camera?  There are some products that advertise performing this kind of functionality such as http://rapidview.com/products/panoramo-si/, but they are VERY expensive.  If some simple lighting, an inexpensive camera and a pole with Meta Shape could achieve the same or even similar results, it would be HUGE.  Any advise is much appreciated!  Also if anyone from Agisoft is reading this, this is a big problem for surveyors and definitely a market.

General / viewport orientation issue
« on: June 10, 2020, 09:33:12 PM »
Hi All,

I'm going through a fairly large area, about 2,000 acres looking for issues with point classification.  However the viewport orientation keeps getting all screwed up just from panning and selecting points/assigning classes.  It's so bad I have to save, close the project, and reopen it to fix the issue.  It's hard to describe, please see the video below for what it looks like when it's screwed up, and the picture for how it's supposed to look.  Hitting the "reset viewport" sets it to some random position where everything is sideways, does nothing to fix the issue.  Thanks for the help!

General / Re: Dense cloud network bandwidth utilization
« on: September 19, 2019, 05:22:49 PM »
I haven't tried Process Lasso Pro, but I have tried Netlimiter and TMeter.  Neither of those programs are able to identify the traffic from agisoft for some reason.  They both state that Agisoft is using 0bytes/s all the time, even when my windows task manager shows 100% utilization of the network card while Agisoft is fetching photos.

General / Dense cloud network bandwidth utilization
« on: September 17, 2019, 02:15:08 AM »
At my office, we all access a central file server that houses our agisoft projects and the raw photos that it uses, along with all our autocad drawings.  The problem is that when I'm building a dense cloud on my computer, everyone's computer i the office running autocad slow down to almost a halt (when the dense cloud is grabbing more photos).  Though this is also an issue with autocad (why autocad needs to connect to the server when doing routine things other then saving is a mystery to me), it would also be nice to throttle agisoft.  Is there a way to throttle agisoft when it's creating the dense cloud so it's not using 100% of the network card on our server?  Thanks for the help.
