Hello, Alexey,

I tried switching resolutions of the screen and reopen Metashape but the problem persists.

The screen model is:

Lenovo ThinkVision T27i-10

Specs of my laptop are:

MacBookPro14,3
macOS 13.6.1 (Ventura)

Thank you very much.

Hello, Alexey,

Sorry for my late reply. I was doing field work.

Metashape behaves properly when using the laptop screen or even other screens connected through HDMI + dongle.

Hello,

I'm facing this problem again after updating my MB Pro to macOS Ventura 13.6.1 and Metashape 2.0.3

The problem is that Metashape can't apparently load the GUI. Only the window "frame" appears, but the content is all gray. No GUI as said.

I am using an external display through HDMI. I tried with Agisoft Viewer and it DOES SHOW the GUI perfectly.

Here is the short log. It shows some screen problem:

I have a dual GPU system. The integrated Intel Graphics shown in the log and a discrete GPU (AMD Radeon 560 Pro) which is not.

Any possible solution or hot fix?

Thank you very much.

Even if your new GPU is 5x faster there are several components that might be acting as a bottleneck. For example, the information transfer rate between RAM, GPU and CPU might be "just" 20% faster on your new Macbook Pro in comparison to your old Mac Pro, thus limiting your performance.

(I made up the numbers to make my argument. I am not saying they are real)

I work with the following:

MacBookPro14,3
Intel Core i7 3,1 GHz 4 cores
Memory:   16 GB

Integrated GPU (not used by Metashape)
Intel HD Graphics 630
VRAM (dynamic, max.): 1536 MB

DIscret GPU (Used by Metashape)
Radeon Pro 560
VRAM (total): 4 GB

Using an external monitor and Macbook in clamshell mode. Plugged through Thunderbolt.
Monitor: ASUS VP247

Hello!

I am also experiencing this issue. It's the second time it happens in two months. First time I had to reinstall Metashape, and manually get rid of all the internal config files, etc.

Could you please, tell us how we can help to fix it? Logs, etc. It is quite painfull to reinstall Metashape, specially because of the license deactivation-activation part.

In my case I'm under macOS Monterey version 12.3.1

Thanks in advance,

General / Re: Illogical GSD vs overlap results
« on: September 27, 2021, 04:59:18 PM »
Hello Alexey,

Thanks for your reply. He used Pix4D. My guess is that there is something wrong with how this program calculates the GSD.

However, I wanted to ask if any photogrammetry expert could see a logical, scientific explanation before assuming it is Pix4D's fault.

I might ask him to send me the data and process it with Agisoft to see its GSD values.

Until then, any reasonable explanation?

General / Illogical GSD vs overlap results

Hi, fellow metashapers

A collegue of mine did some flights for his master thesis and ended up with some apparently illogical GSD results. I have tried to find some logic into it but couldn't.

He combined different tilt angles with overlap percentatges. The results are shown in the table image below.

Can somebody explain how a 30% tilted angle with less overlap is yelding better GSD than with 90% overlap? Does this have a scientific explanation or is it a software misscalculation?

Thank you very much and have a good week.

General / Merging Chunks for Multispectral Datasets
« on: June 21, 2021, 12:06:11 PM »
Hello all,

I am working with a quite large study area where I have to perform several drone flights in order to cover everything with a multispectral camera.

Before each take-off I take a picture of a reflectance panel to later correct each flight radiometry.

I process each flight in a different chunk.

My doubt here is, if I merge the chunks, is the radiometric calibration kept for each batch?

If I were to process everything at once, can i group the cameras and apply different radiometric calibrations to different camera groups in the same chunk?

Thank you very much!

Bug Reports / Bug in reflectance adquisition
« on: November 12, 2020, 04:42:22 PM »
Hello, dear community,

I have been recently flying for a study over a forest plot with a Parrot Sequoia. We had to fly the plot in two batteries, so we had to reprogram the Sequoia again for the second flight.

When reconstructing the multi images we found this:

https://ibb.co/wMG8P3N

It looks like a malfunction of the sun sensor, apparently.

Has this happened to anybody? Does someone know what can it be and, more important, if it can be fixed, somehow?

Thank you in advance!  :D

Well, yesterday I couldn't see the uploads, today I can. It would say it is a forum's bug, as I upload them through it's attachments tool and they randomly decide to appear or not depending on weather.

Anyway, here you have a link https://ibb.co/wMG8P3N

Hope you can see it now, @Alexey

Thank you!

Hello Alexey,

That's weird as I can see it perfectly.

Let me reupload it, then. I lowered the size by 50%. Hope it works now.

Bug Reports / Weird Orthomosaic reflectance
« on: September 24, 2020, 06:05:44 PM »
Hello everyone,

I amb having a problem with a project I am working with. We are trying to map a forest plot where there has been different post-fire management operations. To do it, we used a DJI Phantom 3 Adv with a Parrot Sequoia multispectral camera installed.

We designed the flight to map the entire plot at once. We first took the calibration data using a reflectance panel from AIRINOV. Then, we set up the Sequoia (through it's beloved web interface) and then uploaded the flight plan using Map Pilot. It is kind of a big plot, so the dron returned when it had mapped about 50% of the entire surface. As the Sequoia drinks from the drone battery, we first changed the battery, set up the Sequoia again, re-upload the flight plan using Map Pilot, and it automagically resumed the flight from the last known point. So far, so good. It finished the plot with the 2nd battery.

The problem appeared when processing all those images. As you can see in the orthoimage, something happened between the first and the second part of the flight. One part has a lot more brightness or reflectance than the other. The raw images are okay, they are not "burned" so I have hope that something can still be done.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks in advance
