General / Re: How to use Spherical Panorama Images as a source?

Hi James

Thanks alot for that detailed answer!
It's works a little better now.

Is it possible to use z-depthmap or normalmap renderings to produce geometry out of it?

Kind regards
Alain

General / How to use Spherical Panorama Images as a source?
« on: October 16, 2020, 01:53:24 PM »
Hi
I'm trying to use rendered Spherical Panoramas (equirectangular) as a source (see attachement. this are only two of about 30 standpoints).

The distance between the standpoints of the camera is about 2-3 meters.
Under Tools->Camera Calibration-> I check "Spherical" as the Cameratype.
But aligning the photos does not produce any result.
I'm using the newest demoversion of Metashape Pro.

Does anybody know what I do wrong?

Kind regards
Alain

And how long did it take to compute the dense cloud and what quality did you choose and what hardware did you choose and what did all in all cost ? :-)

Hello Alexey

I guess the Error occured because the process reached the memorylimit.
Before, to create the Mesh I also had to split the Model into chunks to not reach the memorylimit.

Maybe Agisoft can expand the Agisoft Viewer by a VR-Mode ?

OK, I got it now.
"Agisoft Viewer" can only be runed by the viewer.exe-file in the installation directory.

For customers this workflow is very userunfriendly.

Why don't you just add and Exportfunction which exports a Tiled Model inclusive the Viewer which easely can be send to customers ?

Kind regards

You see the number of dense points in my first post ;-)
I tried again but with "Mesh" instead "Dense Cloud" as source and it worked and also even faster :-)

How to install Agisoft Viewer ?
I did download "Agisoft Photoscan Professional" and choosed "Agisoft Viewer" during the installation.
But after the installation I only find "Agisoft Photoscan Professional".
I can't find a way to open/import/append Tiled Model (*.tls-Format) in "Agisoft Photoscan Professional".

Any idea what I do wrong ?

General / Split into Chunks for building Tiled Model ?
« on: May 28, 2018, 09:54:27 AM »
Hi

I had a "Bad Allocation Error" after building the Tiled Model (0.006m/px).
Maybe 0.006m/px is a bit to high ? I tried with 0.6m/px and it worked but the Model is mutch to rough.
Isn't it possible to split the Model into Chunks by Script like you can do for building the 3D Model ?

It's a "huge" Model of about 2000 Photos, Dense Cloud of 725'000'000 Points.
Hardware: 32 GB RAM, 8 logical Cores, Nvidia Quadro M2000M.

Does anybody know what to do to compute the Tiled Model in a useable resolution ?

Kind regards
Alain

Hi johnkendall

Woudn't it help if you split your Model into Chunks with following Script ?
https://github.com/agisoft-llc/photoscan-scripts/blob/master/src/split_in_chunks_dialog.py

I had the same Memorylimit-Problem an splitting the Model into 7x7 chunks helped.

Hi

The Banana-Set works fine for me.

But my own test does not work well.
In addition to the Backgroundimage I added a few more masks.

One thing confuses me:
Photoaligning with "Medium" accuracy uses all photos but photoaligning with "High" accuracy only uses half of the photoset.

Any idea what I do wrong ?

Kind regards
Alain

Ok, I see it now, it's not so obviuos ;-) Is it not possible to run the Dialogwindow after running the Script ?

I have 2000 Photos and wanna "Build Mesh" in High Quality, what settings do you recommend ? 2 x 2 ?
What means the Checkbox "Merge Back" ?

2. Use the 'split in chunks' Python script
https://github.com/agisoft-llc/photoscan-scripts/blob/master/src/split_in_chunks_dialog.py

How to run that Script ?
I just did run it unter "Tools->Run Script" (without any Arguments) but nothing happened.

That price seems cheaper than AWS with a gpu vm.

"That" what ?
What means AWS ? Azur Workstation ?

@TXPE
How did you manage to upload such a large amount of data to the Virtual Machine ?

I have about 11 GB to upload and I guess this takes longer than computing the Project on my local machine ;-)
