General / not enough reference points
« on: December 20, 2019, 08:20:25 PM »
I wanted to force the scale on an object by assigning some known distances so I added markers and assigned some distances between the points. I then get an error that says " not enough reference data". I know all the points and scale bars have to be checked before hitting the update icon. I had suspected that I didn't have enough control points with assigned scales bars so I added a ton more to see if I could force it. I still get the same error. Shouldn't 20 pairs of known distances be enough?
I should add that I am working off an obj project only. Not sure if that makes a difference. A coworker had shared the obj file with me so I don't have the entire project with original images. I would think it wouldn't matter but just incase it does, thought I would mention it.
Thanks,
Maryann

General / setting the orientation to a new custom default
« on: November 05, 2019, 09:14:01 PM »
Hi there,

Every time I open my model in metashape I have to manually move it around to get to the view I desire. Is there a way to set the default view so that every time I open it up it will be in the correct orientation?

Thanks,
MK

Hi Alexy,
See attached image. The original is a 16 Bitt Tiff image.
Thanks!

Hi Alexey,
I've attached some images.  The exploded pixels are not as easy to see from a screen grab, but they are very obvious when I move the model around. They jump around and appear in different locations, depending on the view of the model.  They are especially visible with the black background while moving the model around.  My work around is to use a grey background so they are not as distracting, but I do know that they also did not exist in the older version.  They are all over the model so they do not correspond to any specific image and the white pixels also don't exist in the original imagery if that's what you're wondering.
Thanks for your help!

General / bright white pixels
« on: June 18, 2018, 08:35:39 PM »
I updated form 1.3.1 to 1.4.2 and am now seeing some bright white pixels in the texture model. They weren't there in the older version. They are also not seen in the mesh or dense cloud mode.
Any ideas why this may be happening? I like to use a black background and they are very distracting.
Thanks!

Outsider's suggestion worked. I had to update to get the enable ghost filter option. Now I have a new problem, bright white pixels that weren't there before in version 1.3.1.
I will start a new thread for that question.
Thank you, outsider and Alexy for helping me with the lines.

General / lines in texture files
« on: June 16, 2018, 06:57:22 PM »
Can anyone tell me why I see lines in my resulting texture model? I don't see any evidence that they exist in the mesh model, just when the model is textured.  They become really obvious when I apply average texture but I can still see them in mosaic texture mode.  The other settings in texture don't seem to matter much.
I attached two images, one in mosaic texture mode and one in average. You can see lines in both modes.
thank you
