Hi Alexey!
Thanks for replying. I started it all over so i dont think i have that data left but i think i got i figured out. I need to learn use masks. In sparse cloud it all looked good but i guess that in dense cloud those "errors" was actually from images that would need masking.
Thanks again

General / index overload
« on: October 14, 2018, 02:43:53 AM »
Hello!
Anybody who knows what "Index overload" message means?
Got this message on "build mesh" step. My dense cloud is quite different from sparse cloud and dense cloud seems to have lots of errors. Has the message to do with those errors or some other stuff like ram overload or similar?
thanks/Juri

3d studio max or similar rendering programs has a lots of material and shader alternatives to "apply" on your  scan. But it is couple steps you have to walk.  You can export your scan as stl. Thats a "colorless" surface which you can apply different materials on.  You can try searching for "vray materials" for example and see what type of materials you could apply on a stl file.

General / boosting CPU
« on: October 04, 2018, 11:54:30 PM »
Hi there!

Still waiting for the second part of dense cloud (filtering depth maps) to be done. Seems to be the most time consuming part since GPUs are for no use here.
I wonder if it might be a good idea to shut down some of the cores of my 20 core system and that way get the turbo-boost to increase CPU clock.  I run on 2 Intel xeon e5 2640v4 and turbo-boost only kicks in when some cores are not in use.  So 20 cores gives you 2.4Ghz and 8 cores gives 3.1Ghz. Seems like the amount of Threads goes up from 2000 to 2500 when in 8 core mode. Could it be that 8 cores gives faster calculation than 20 cores on the same system?

General / Tweak vs. quality
« on: October 04, 2018, 02:18:28 PM »
Hi!
My first post here
I have a question about trying to save time on task of filtering depth maps.
How does tweaking neighbors affect the quality of dense cloud?

main/dense_cloud_max_neighbors                      60

If i switch from what now is around 400 selected cameras to 60, how big is the difference?
Of course i can test this by doing and aim also to do that test but  now stuck on this task of filtering for 2 more days before i can start tweaking that number of neighbors.
So if anyone has done this type of testing It would be great to know.

thanks Juri
