General / "Can´t replace file or directory"
« on: January 20, 2025, 06:52:10 PM »
Hi there,

when I try to process "dense point cloud", Metashape reports shortly before finished: "Can´t replace file or directory: The process cannot access the file, because beeing used by another proess (32): ...path..files/o/o/depth_maps.1/data0.zip

which is not true. There is no other process that uses this directory or file. Can anyone help please?

Thank you

Dear all,

can you confirm that I interpreted the manual correctly and the Error (°) as well  Roll err (°) etc. is the estimated error of the input (source) refferences from the IMU?

Thanks a lot and best regards
Andreas

General / absurd high angle error at single line flights

Hi,

I processed a single line of a flight (A1 camera with Applanix +18 INS). Metashape produces this: (s. Attachment).
Any idea what is going wrong here?

Hope you can help.

Kind regards
Andreas

General / Re: replace Exif-Data by CSV-List

Hello Alexey,

now it is getting really strange - the #51 was a mistake. Of course it is #1. Then it works for that dataset. First: Sorry for that confusion.

The strange thing is, that my colleague, who works on the same (server)computer, has the same issue with correct labeling (s. attached image). The command he used was:

doc = Metashape.app.document

chunk = doc.chunk

path = r'\\<PATH>\reference_file.txt'

cols = r'nxyzabc[XYZ]'

delimiter = ','

skip_rows = 1

chunk.importReference(path= path, columns= cols, delimiter= delimiter, skip_rows= skip_rows)

For his test project, it again worked only when he uses the command or when he copied the coordinate-list to the desktop, it also worked. But there is no issue with the file path.

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi Alexey,

I tried an older dataset whtich worked with an older verion of Metashape and it also doesn´t work with the new version. But a collegue of mine just found out, that when open the list in the console (Chunk.import reference) it does work. So it seems that the button on the UI doesn´t trigger any function.

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi Alexey,

it looks like that:

Should be okay as far as I know.

I think I found the problem: When i delete the metadata and load the csv as reference, Metashape doesn´t take those data as new metadata. It is like I´ve never loaded the CSV. I think the software doesn´t work proper anymore on my computer

Hello,

can anyone tell me how I replace (wrong) exif coordinates by (correct) csv-data. When I just load the csv data as reference, metashape still keeps the exif header. Thank you!

Kind regards
Andreas

Thanks for your reply Alexey,

but no, nothing changes.  Actually the allignment itselfs looks pretty good, but twisted. Yes, it is a linear flight, but I´ve never had this problem until this year.

Kind regards

Bug Reports / Pointcloud (land surface) always twisted
« on: December 19, 2023, 06:12:36 PM »
Hi there,

since a while, whenever I calculate orthophotos, the pointcloud is always twisted with huge errors and thus the outcome is always useless unless I use GCPs and set them by hand. When a friend calculates the same data at his computer, the initial pointclout and thus the orthophoto fits always very well using exact the same parameters and input data (single images and added coordinate list).

What is wrong with my Metashape?

Thanks and kind regards
Andreas

Hello Alexey,

thanks a lot! After re-optimization totel error [m] is at 0.2! Think you were totally right!
