Thanks for the replies I appreciate them! I re-took my pictures. There are 180 of them. https://photos.app.goo.gl/dQbiKShhi7DLDWzw8

The surface looks fine, but the strings and the pegs are difficult to be modelled. The strings look as if they have merged on the board. The hole becomes bulging up, and the pegs don't look very nice.

Do any of you have any tip to solve these issues? Is it better to put them in several chunks and merge them? Or I should just try another object...?

How do You generate masks ?
My approach was the following:
 - add all images to the single chunk,
 - copy to the clipboard the label of the first background image,
 - select in the Photos pane all the images which correspond to the given background,
 - right-click on selection, then Import Masks -> From Background -> Filename = background image filename,
- then repeat the steps for each sub-set of images.

Somehow I dont quite understand this - I try to do the same for my model (also opened a post here -https://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=12115.0. I only have one background picture.

Questions:
-Do I select the background image, and Ctrl+C?
-My background image is called bg.jpg, do I put it as "file name template"? Afterwards there is a window which prompt me to select a folder, does it mean I did the step wrongly?

General / Failed to align

Hi, I am trying to create a model of an ukulele.

I masked the background, clicked "tie to keypoints", but only a few cameras aligned. This is strange cos this method used to work for my other model.  May I ask if there are not enough pictures, or what's the problem...?

My dataset is here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/PXnurCBpZnAK57f19

Appreciate your help!

I photoshopped the background image and got a much better result. But one side of the pear has this scar, which may have come from the background image?

Wow yours look amazing! The banana looks really clear. Thanks for sharing!

I retook pictures again but still don't work. My new pictures are here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TujfMo9RgrHiRr169

I masked the background image. Is it because the background picture is over exposed? It may also be because I don't have/use a tripod.  Do you use tripod?

HI Alexey

I took new pictures with DSLR. This time is a bit better, but only 55 out of 86 pictures aligned (only the top side of the banana.). I masked the two pictures without the banana.

Could you tell me what's wrong? I hope to see all images successfully aligned.

My pictures can be viewed here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZmywtDAceGwmj5Gz7   (DSC_0151 - DSC_0182 are not aligned).

Thanks you!

Hi Alexey

Thank you it worked. May I ask why it should be "aligned to key points", not "tile points" - what's the difference?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have done a test with a banana, trying to reproduce what the tutorial has demonstrated here. https://www.agisoft.com/index.php?id=49

My photos are similar with those in the example, you can see from here- https://photos.app.goo.gl/fPdmwesuZNFgtibz7

The only differences are that I used an iphone to take photos, also the background setting and color (and my banana is less riped...). I followed the steps of the tutorial. Even those 43/45 cameras are aligned, my photos are totally messed up as you can see from the attached pic. May I ask why is that?

I suspect only one mask created is the problem. I am trying to create masks for every banana in the pics to solve this problem but this is very time consuming. Any tips to create masks easily without outlining in every picture?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

General / Merging top and bottom chunks in the standard version
« on: March 21, 2020, 07:49:00 PM »
Hi all

I desperately need help please. I need to align and merge two chunks, one is a top view of a box, another is a bottom view of the box. They look alright in their respective 3D models (pls see photos). All photos are masked. But they CANNOT be aligned or merged properly.

I am using the standard version so cannot use markers. Could you help please?
