General / Re: Camera Calibration for DJI P1
« on: November 23, 2021, 03:39:15 PM »
Thanks Ben.  Ive just started using a P1 with 35mm lens and have noticed that even after Ive run PPK that my images are a fair distance off my GCP which worries me.  Can someone please advise what I should be doing to correct this.  Im told that DJI P1 cameras are not calibrated and the manual dosent really cover this aspect.  How should this calibration be done please?

General / Volume character limit

Apologies if the answer is here but I've been unable to find it.  I have a large void space that I am computing in m2.  Unfortunately the volume result omits some of the decimal characters.  Is there a way to change this setting please?  This is what Im seeing in the results - 1.31338e+06 for a volume of 1.3 million m2.  Is it a case of exporting and running in an external software?  Many thanks.

Thanks Alexey.  I'll give it a go.

General / Advice please re poor mesh/ texture
« on: February 08, 2021, 11:55:09 AM »
Hi guys.  I havent attempted much in the way of vertical surfaces to date.  I captured this cottage beginning with a traditional nadir grid mapping flight, followed by a number of orbits and obliques at various heights finishing with images taken on foot around the base.  Can someone please advise what I need to do in my workflow to overcome the issues seen here in the attached.  P4P UAV.  Many thanks.

That loaded up without an issue thanks Paul!

It looks like your Dropbox file is locked Paul.

Thank you Paul, I see.  I’ll try that .tiff and report back.  Many thanks.

Sorry, Paul.  I used the .tiff as per Agisoft download page.

Thank you Paul.  I don’t have any coding experience and am looking to rely upon the method of creating a custom user set up.  I don’t understand how you have achieved your result I’m sorry.  The suggested workflow is simple in theory, select and download required geiod If available (which it is), download it and store in Agisoft geoid file on computer, load up as custom datum.  That’s what I’m after please.

General / Vertical datum transformation error

Hello all.  I am aware this issue has been previously raised on an old thread which has advised me to create a new one.  I am now desperate to change the geoid on a large data set for a client.  I have posted on the old thread, have emailed Agisoft support, have messaged Alexeley personally and have received nothing.  Industry requires better service than this from Agisoft and issues like this where the software if not performing should not be left for a community driven forum to try and deal with.  Not good enough Agisoft and this experience does influence recommendations of the product over others who offer much superior customer service.  I am disappointed to say the least and now have an aggrieved client.

I am unable to set a custom geoid as the known error keeps populating.  I have followed the knowledge articles, changed the file name and downloaded the relevant .tiff to the appropriate folder.

So two questions for Agisoft,

1) How is this error corrected please
2) What is a reasonable timeframe to receive customer support?

Regards,

Paul

I think it was noise related.  I have removed the brick piles from around the base and discovered noise that I was unable to remove previously.  Creating a new mesh and texture.  I'll post a result.

General / Issue with incorrect texture applied to part of model
« on: October 31, 2020, 01:12:39 PM »
Hi guys,

I have a model of a large brick chimney that I'm working on presently.  The base and chimney are constructed of solid smooth faced bricks.  Everything looked great in the dense point, but for some reason when the texture has been created the software has utilised the texture of the neighbouring piles of bricks and has applied that to a couple of areas on the vertical surface of the base.  I'm not sure how to go about correcting this if anybody can assist me please.  Cheers, Paul.

I would process a subset of the project and exclude the cameras and see what result you get.  If equally poor results then you need to keep looking.  If the surface tighten's right up, then you may have isolated the problem to the drone.
I went back to square one and now think its a projection issue with conflicting datums, GDA2020 v GDA1994.  I'll re run the GCP data and convert it to GDA2020 which is what the images are tagged as.  I didn't initially realise that, ironically the difference in the new datum height is 1.6mts.
