General / Re: Agisoft Metashape 2.0.0 pre-release

I wanted to know if you have been able to solve the problem that processors with many cores have, in the tests carried out by Pubget Systems https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Metashape-Pro-1-7-2-CPU-Performance-Roundup-2261/  it is clear that a ryzen 7 5800x (8 cores) has more performance than a ryzen 9 5950x (16 cores) which it doesn't make any kind of sense, from what I saw the problem was seen in the tile model but there have also been problems with the dense point cloud, it is assumed that the 5950x will tend to take less than twice as long as the 5800x or something approximate but no is the case, even the ryzen threadripper 3975wx(32 cores) is slower than the 5800x. I have done my own tests but only on my laptop that barely has 4 cores, so I could not draw any conclusions about it, it would be very helpful if you can answer that question, and the last question would be, how recommendable is it to use memories DDR5 in metashape, are they worth it?

Hi, I'm new here, I use this software for topography, so I don't use the mesh generation. In this latest version you can see that the software doesn't add many points in the parts that are vegetation, which greatly reduces the processing time, I don't know how it behaves in other types of environments, but in my case the performance has improved a lot, if you have more information about what metashape has done with respect to the hardware, I would greatly appreciate it if you shared it. For bonus I have made another benchmark with overclock on the GTX 1650 and I use the iGPU

1.8.3(554 Photos-20Mpx)

-Depth Maps: 947 sec

-Dense Cloud: 2338 sec

-DEM: 75.4 sec

-Orthomosaic: 1245 sec

-Total: 5662.1

1.7.0

-Align Photos: 1373.6 sec

-Depth Maps: 945 sec

-Dense Cloud: 2856 sec

-DEM: 89.1 sec

-Orthomosaic: 1398.9

Hello everyone, I hope you are well. As we already know, the recommendations of the official agisoft website have told us that to have a very good performance in processing time our CPU must have from 6 to 24 cores, but we already know that many cores in metashape do not help much, they do the opposite. comparing them with CPU'S with less cores. I want to know if someone who has version 1.8.3 and a processor with more than 12 cores has noticed any improvement in processing time, if you could share that information I would greatly appreciate it.
