General / Re: how to align and merge laser scan with dense cloud ?
« on: October 15, 2024, 12:24:51 PM »
https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000168474#Processing-of-terrestrial-laser-scans-with-images

Par ailleurs, avec tous les tests que je fais depuis quelques jours, je suis sur une piste qui pourrait aboutir à ce que je veux. Je reviendrai ici si les résultats sont probants.
Merci de votre aide,
Bonne journée
Jacques

General / how to align and merge laser scan with dense cloud ?
« on: October 13, 2024, 12:35:20 AM »
Hi, I'm working on a survey with laser scan (from Faro laser) in .las format, and images from Mavic 3E.
I've imported images and scan as indicate in manuel (add photos and import dense cloud using "as a laser scan").
I aligned the images ; tie points are ok.
But, the tie points doesn't match with the laser scan (cf. Screen shot).
The laser scan was imported in coordonate system : RGF93v1 / CC46 (EPSG::3946), and the images are in the WGS84 (EPSG::4326) coordonnate system.
I need create a 3D modele of the factory. The laser scan for inside, the drone for outside. I placed 7 targets on the groud visible by the laser scan, and the drone images.
What do I have to do to merge the two dense clouds ? Do I have to create dense cloud from the tie points ?
Thanx for help.

General / Re: Managing huge project : HELP !

Sorry for the late of my answer...
During processing, Metashape doesn't have built-in feature... Or I don't know how to set it up.
I could split the huge project, but with 13,000 pictures, very hard to separate them ; that's why I work with the network traitement on my computer.
Today, I succeed to manage another huge project (8,000 pictures) without problems. With my inverter, I didn't lost data, and the computer went on processing.
thanx a lot for your help.

Hi, thanx for your help.
I don't think my Mac Studio (M1 Max) can use ECC RAM. I don't know this specification ; on the net, forums seem to answer the question by negative.
For the storms, I bought an inverter, it's secure.
So, how can I re-use (resume) the previous workflow after a crash ? is possible or not ?
Many thanx

Hello, on this huge project, I found a solution to process it on my mac; I work with server/nodes. I configured the server, the node and I configured the local network on Metashape settings. Everything works well.
On the other hand, since the processing is very long (especially for the dense point cloud, more than a month) it happens that either the computer crashes or a general power outage (storms).
Is there a way to resume where the work left off (and therefore resume the files created for the dense point cloud for example)? Because every time the process has stopped, it restarts all processing from the beginning. So, I'm losing more than a month of treatment... it's painful.
Thank you for your help.

hi, thanx for your answer.
Yes I have Network Monitor open on that ip adress 192.168.12, with is the ip adress of my mac.
Why this question ?

General / recv: Connection reset by peer (54)
« on: September 05, 2023, 08:48:41 AM »
Hi, I work in a huge project with server/node on my mac. Sometimes I see this message : "recv: Connection reset by peer (54)" in a Network Monitor popup window. I find this message in the Server Terminal windows, and in the Nework Monitor history, written in red (see screenshot attached).
It doesn't stop the workflow.
Does someone have an idea what it means ?
Thanx
Jacques

Hi Bzuco, I stopped and raz the project, until I find a solution. The pictures were took with a DJI Mavic 3E. Each is about 8 Mo (x13000), total about 150Go.
Each time I crashed, it was with a error message like "can't find le file : xxx". The file is used to record the project. I work on external hard drive 5To, only for this project. And my computer loose the connection with the external HD. I think it's a problem of memory, but not sure.
My computer is a Mac Studio, Appel M1 Max, 64 Go RAM, 1To memory. I run Agisoft MetashapePro 2.0. What kind of settings you need on Metashape ?
I found a solution to work with server and nodes. I'll try it after my current project. Do you think it could be appropriate ?
Thanx for your help.
Jacques.

Hi, I try to manage a huge project (13,000 photos) to modelize a urban part of a town.
I failed a lot of times.
I cut the project in several chunks, but my computer sems to be over limit to digest the data (Mac Studio, 64 GB RAM, M1 MAX).
I can't buiid a mesh, I can(t built a texture, ...
I just succeeded to built point clouds on each chunks and depth maps.

Do you have a solution for me ?

Thanx for your help.

Hi Bzuco,
Thanx a lot for your idea, I try to look for this on my mac, but I didn't found.
I run metashape 2,0 on my Mac Studio.
If you have another idea, I'll listen to you.

Hi,
I'm working on a project with 13,000 photos. I cut it into several chunks.
I'm working on a 2TB external hard drive.
I have a chunk of 3821 photos and every time I want to make a dense point cloud I get an error message that cannot be saved because the external hard drive is disconnected. And indeed, the hard drive is disconnected. It was not me who disconnected it, and there is no other application running at the same time neither on this hard drive, nor on the computer.
I do not understand what is happening.
I was able to do the dense point clouds on the other chunks.
Do you have an idea ? What can I send you for your analysis ?
Thank you for your help.

Bonjour,
Cordialement

Thanx you Alexey and Kiesel,
But neither first nor second solution is right.
I did Kiesel solution ; it doesn't work
And my filenames are exactly equals ; the two folders are copies.
The problem comes from elsewhere...
I hope you will find because I can't imagine change the path to each photo, one by one :-)
Thanx a lot

Hi, I open this post : With the 2.0.0 version, it doesn't work. I can't change the path of my 2137 pictures in one time. An idea ???
Thanx a lot
