General / Re: Hawaiian state plane coodinate conversion issue

Another thing I have noticed is that epsg 6629 is not a choice under the conversion button, but if you go to the reference settings and search for it there, it shows up.

General / Hawaiian state plane coodinate conversion issue

Has anyone in here done work in Hawaii? I have a control file that I am trying to bring into Metashape but it is causing some major conversion issues. Im trying to work with spc nad83 HI Zone 2 PA11.  When I set the project to epsg 6629 it tells me "unsupported datum transformation".  Ive been using Metashape for a few years now, and this is the first time Ive seen this error. I cant figure out how to get past it. Images are captured in wgs84.  Ive never had an issue converting a project to the marker's coordinate system before.

As a preliminary test, I might place markers on a few photos at the blank area in question. Once that's complete, I'd turn on the marker display in the model UI. If the markers show in the correct (blank) location, then you know it's something more than just photo alignment issues.

Markers are visible in the blank location...

maybe too much overlap and to much tiepoint cleanup, can you check if this area has depthmaps or if they are missing?

Depth Maps were generated, is there a way to toggle a visual of them on?

Thank you, that does help! These gaps are where the guy had two separate overlapping flights with his drone. There is plenty of overlap but there is something weird going on between the two flight lines. The sparse cloud is there but it is pretty light in this area.

Yes I am, that guide is great.  But I cannot for the life of me get the data to transform.

Does anyone know what would cause this to happen? I have never had so many issues with a dataset in my life. There are a couple of large uniform holes in the point cloud.

General / Issue processing rtk corrected imagery and GCPs

I have a set of data Im working on and I have noticed that after I try to align a few of the control points I am unable to shift the data (update/ transform) to the gcp markers. The sparse cloud does not move at all.  Is this because the rtk data is better than the gcps or vice versa? If I turn off all cameras I am able to shift the data to the gcps, if I turn the cameras back on the residuals are off to the tune of 20 - 30 feet.  Any ideas of what I might should do? Is there an issue with camera or marker references? It was flown with a DJI Mavic 3E.

How did you delete the accuracy entries?

General / Tie Point Misalignment

I am getting major tie point misalignment issues. Has anyone had this issue before and what did you do to fix it? In some areas the topography horribly mismatched.  The images were processed and adjusted spatially using PPK.

General / Tie Point Discrepancy

Ive not ever seen this before, but after aligning the photos in our project Im getting a mismatch in tie points. One area of tie points are raised above the adjacent points. The area is fairly homogenous and I am certain this has something to do with it. Even still, how do we remedy this?  It looks like a perfect seem right down the middle of the tie points. I will caveat and say that we did not fly this ourselves but are processing for another outfit. So I do not know what parameters they flew the area with. We have tried re-running the images a couple of times and are getting the same results.

What would cause the orthomosaic to be really blurry in Civil 3D?

Ill continue to follow this thread.  It would be great to have feature as a tool in the bag.  Typically we gps all of our laser scans, but there are times that we do projects that dont require it and have both scans and UAV data.  It would be so nice to be able to align the images with the laser scan.  We have been playing with this feature but cannot seem to figure out how to get it to work- following agisoft's tutorial.

Feature Requests / Re: Laser scan + pictures integration
« on: June 04, 2024, 05:44:35 AM »
I have been playing with this today.  I imported a scan I did with the RTC360. Exported the e57 (as separate files i believe) format out of Register 360 and imported the scan into Metashape with no issues, the scan maintained its registration.  What I cannot seem to figure out is how to properly align the images we took from the drone.  Ive been following Agisoft's tutorial page on how to do this with no luck; https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000168474-terrestrial-laser-scans-processing-in-metashape-2-1#Processing-of-terrestrial-laser-scans-with-images

At this point this is just cool feature but I can see a lot of potential for being able to do this. We have a project at the moment that did not require control, but we have both RTC data and UAV.  Normally we gps everything so each cloud drops right on on each other no problem.  This time, it would be great to be able to align the laser scan with the photogrammetry.   There is not just one issue here, and we have tried several different variations of Agisoft's tutorial. I did notice that after attempting to align the photos it caused the scans to not be aligned. Have you had success at all in combining everything?

Sorry this happened, super frustrating when this stuff happens.  I dont know anything about multispectral but could the homogenous landscape combined with the lighting have impact? What settings did you use when you imported and aligned the images?
