Face and Body Scanning / Re: New to Photoscan-Some questions..

Just regarding the freeze & crash, the only time I noticed something similar was when I hadn't enough memory, and it started paging out to disk virtual memory. Are you using the 32bit version of the application?

General / Scripting / Automating Workflow
« on: March 23, 2011, 05:34:10 PM »
Hi,

I am getting some good results from your product. I like it!

However, I am wondering whether, and how the different commands could be scripted/automated without using the GUI?

I can see when turning on 'Output' pane, what looks like console output from self-contained processes, including various 'exit-code' messages at the end of different steps.

Could these steps be called without using the GUI?

e.g. it might be useful to have a preconfigured set of parameters, with a target directory, or list of files, and to schedule the model generation to run overnight. Only on inspecting those results, I could then go back and manually correct only those models that need work.

Thanks!

...and in a similiar vein, I am also wondering about incrementally adding new chunks, without re-aligning existing already-aligned chunks.

General / Adding new chunks after old chunks merged
« on: March 19, 2011, 06:48:57 PM »
Hi,

I've merged a number of chunks, giving me a textured model.

If I then add a new chunk, should I delete the existing merged chunk before re-aligning & merging the chunks again?

Or will the existing merged chunk model be ignored when I do the chunk alignment again? And will the existing merged chunk model be overwritten by the new merge?

Regards.

General / Incremently adding photos
« on: March 19, 2011, 05:33:30 PM »
Hello, I have just purchased your PhotoScan Standard Edition, and am experimenting...

Is it possible now, or in future releases, to incremently add photos to chunks, witout running through the whole workflow again for that chunk?

Unless I am mistaken, it does not seem like it is possible.

For example, if I have generated a textured model, but there are gaps, I take more photos to fill those gaps. I would like to be able to add those new photos without matching points between photos that have already been done.

Ideally, most if not all of the workflow (matching points, building structure, calculating mesh, adding texture etc), would support incremental addition of photos.

Regards.

General / Roadmap & Upgrades
« on: March 18, 2011, 09:40:39 PM »
Hi, I've looked at your product, and am very impressed.

But I am wondering:

1. If I purchase a license now, e.g. for the standard edition, for how long will updates continue to work? Forever? or maybe until v1.0.x is released?

2. Do you have any plan or roadmap for new features to be included?

Thanks.
