General / Re: Agisoft PhotoScan 0.8.5 pre-release
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:31:22 PM »
Hi Alexey,

please find atteched the txt (tab delimited) and xml file.
The xml file was produced by exporting from the new groundcontrol panel and modifying some points manually in a textfile. During import nothing happens. The values remain the same.
Same thing with the txt file, but this one was created by hand, but I sticked to the manual.

cheers!

I have problems reading in ground control data for markers. No matter if I specify the markers in csv or the new xml file format version....

cheers

Feature Requests / highlighting points
« on: November 19, 2011, 06:28:29 PM »
Hi there,

when I'm processing large projects, there are often some images which were matched but are incorrect, creating sub-models within the actual model. At the moment it is quite hard to filter those out as I can only see the wrong points, but I don't easily see which photo they come from.
It would be a great help to have the corresponding points highlighted when an image was selected in the browser or in 3D space.

Thanks!

Bug Reports / Re: export/import cameras
« on: October 26, 2011, 11:17:07 AM »
Hi Alexey,

1. align a set of pictures, create geometry
2. I then export the model and export  the cameras via "export points" and .xml
3. I re-import both, without creating a point cloud, they match

4. I set some markers and load the corresponsing keypoints via ground control and press update. local coordinates.
the file starts like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<keypoints coordinates="local" units="meters">

<marker name="point 1">
<x>-81.0525</x>
<y>27.7219</y>
<z>10.6466</z>
</marker>

.
.
.

5. I then export the the model and the cameras again like in 2.
6  When re-imoprting model and camera, without re-alignemnt and updating the ground control, model and camera won't match.

I need this because I would like to adjust some things outside of Agisoft and to also combine projects

thanks for your help!

Bug Reports / export/import cameras
« on: October 25, 2011, 03:28:45 PM »
Hi,

when I export the cameras via "export points" photoscan structure .xml and re-import it back via tools->"import cameras" the cameras fall into the same place, which is good. When I use markers though, apply some ground control information and export/import again, the cameras are at a arbitrary new place in space.

It did work back in 0.8.1 or 0.8.2 I think.

Any ideas?

It would also be cool if I could join several chunks without any adjustment by agisoft to merge sub-projects. This way I could split up projects after alignment, export the cameras, create separate projects or chunks and merge them again. One could then also align the chunks with the help of the meshes outside of Agisoft, when automatic methods fail and re-import the cameras (or a transformation matrix maybe)
The restriction, to only be able to merge chunks after the creation of a point cloud, could/should be lifted then.

Thanks!

Bug Reports / Re: export point cloud formats

Thanks Alexey,
I still need to understand the matrix math behind it, but you have to be right, as I don't see any problems with the orientation.
but I still can't see why the y and z -ordinate of the translation is also inverted. it would explain the shift at least...

What I did is to align a couple of images, export points as a bundler.out, and import it again via import cameras.

have a look at the two screenshots.

Bug Reports / export point cloud formats

Hi,
there seems to be a bug in the point cloud export. I compared the bundler.out and the photoscan .xml and there seems to be a false sign in there. The values of the second and the third row of the rotation in the .out are negated/inverted. also y and z of the translation is affected, not x.

when I export a .out file and import it again, the point cloud is shifted and doesn't fit the cameras anymore. (or the cameras are shifted....)
