Hi

Im sorry for this post. I found that the coordinate import from excel  had not worked as it should. After entering them manually everything was fine.
Sorry for bothering you!

General / DEM problems at z value below sealevel
« on: August 16, 2017, 12:18:07 PM »
Hi everybody

I have a project where all targets and the object have minus z values (below sea level) because they are situated behind a dam in a bay of the sea. The DEM looks fine but obviously the software recognized the highest parts as lowest and vize versa. Exporting an orthophoto from that DEM does not work. Do you have any solution to that?

Best

Sven

Sure Alexey! Here are the screen shots. By the way: There are many more problems of this kind in this model and I have frequently had the same problem in most of my earlier projects. So this is just an example. Either I am doing something wrong in the export process or there is an issue in the software.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Alexey

I send you here both a screen shot from a part of the model and a snip of the orthophoto. As you can see there are paerts missing on the orthophoto which are clearly visible on the model.

Best regards

General / missing parts on orthophoto
« on: August 05, 2014, 05:21:30 PM »
Even though my models are complete in every detail, there are often parts missing on the orthophotos. These are usually parts of objects which have both an upper an a lower side / front and back side in the model. Has anybody a suggestion how I could export orthophotos which show all the details which are visible in the modell?

Thanks

Sven

Camera Calibration / Re: What does it mean?

Hi Alexey

Which parameters do you mean with "much greater than 1.0"? corners hessian or non-m,axima or refine, etc...

Thank you very much. Do you have any specific setup which you recommend? Domed, flat? Did your remark on uncallibrated systems mean that a callibrated system has a better accuracy underwater?

General / calibrate underwater photo

Hi everybody
I have now been using Photoscan extensively on land without any camera calibration and great accuracy. We have also built some models of underwater structures which works very nicely. However measuring very accurately underwater is almost impossible and thus it is difficult to control the accuracy of these models. Has anybody experience with underwater photogrammetry and do you think that a camera calibration (eg. with a calibration sheet on site) is necessary or usefull?

Thanks!

Hello Alex

I see now that it is all very well desrcibed in the new manual. I am sorry for taking so much of your time. Now that I understand the new sytem I must say that the scale bars are a great new tool!

Hi

Being used to the old version with a measuring tool and a tool for setting the scale I am still lost how to set the scale in the new version. Where in the ground controle do I set the scale?

Best wishes

Hi Lins

I havn't found such a feature in Photoscan yet. I am also working with archaeological architecture. I usually plan in the field which wall I want to have an orthophoto of. Then I glue two markers on it, on an exact waterline, and measure the distance. I open the exported orthophotos in Photoshop and then adjust the distance between the markers with the extremly exact measure tool of Photoshop. I can also rotate the picture in order to get an exact horizontal in the picture. I think that workflow works terrific.

Hi James
Thank you very much! I have already worked a little with meshlab and I will try what you have suggested. It would still be great to have this function in Photoscan.
Best wishes
