Have you found a solution to this issues?  I am having the same problem.

Thanks,
Matt.

Some more information is required to be able to answer your questions...

What average speed will the aircraft be flying at?

Is that 60% overlap in-flight and side?

Which camera and what lens are you using?

With that information it would be possible to at least come up with some estimates.

My guess would be that you are running out of RAM??

Exciting!!  Looking forward to seeing the results!

Hi Alexey,

Small request...  Would it be possible to put the "Filter Photos by Marker" button back onto the Photos pane toolbar.  I found it much easier and quicker there?

Thanks.

Q.  Do you have GPS coordinates for the images?  Are you able to select 'Ground Control' while aligning images?

I perform surface modelling via a UAV and have just processed a job with 2500 images in 4hrs on my custom built portable workstation ($7k).  So your jobs are well within reasonable capabilities if you invest in some decent processing power.  Your budget of $7-$10k should get you a beast of a machine that would chew up jobs like that!!
Like the other posters have stated, more RAM will make no difference unless you are actually running out of RAM and the GPU is not used for Align Photos.  Big beefy CPU(s) is what you need!

Short answer: your CPU is where the problem lies.

Your GPU is ok and from what I know if you don't have enough RAM the program will simply crash.  More RAM will allow you to process larger jobs.

What size are your projects?  How many images? Image size?

Unfortunately when dealing with large datasets you inevitably need a powerful computer.

No, I hadn't tried that one yet.  I will run a few tests with 'arbitrary' and see how I go.

Thanks.

See attached image.

It is a tall structure (conveyor/train load out facility) that I am trying to get a more accurate ortho image of.  I have tried outputting the image with various different settings but so far haven't had a lot of success.

I understand that this type of thing is very difficult for photogrammetry, ie tall or suspended features, but is there a 'preferred' setting/workflow in Photoscan to achieve the best results?

Thanks.

Thanks Porly, I thought that would trigger a response from someone!

I'll give that a go and see how I get on.

I wish I could have been at INTERGEO myself... perhaps next year??  Hope you enjoyed it.

Cheers.

Hmmm, it seems I always ask questions that no one can answer??

When I run optimise on my sparse point cloud, what is the difference between having the images enabled and disabled?

Also, what is k4 and should I have that selected?

Thanks

I am definitely struggling with the 'Classify Ground Points'.

Initial run on default settings seemed to work ok.
I then ran it again with very different settings and very little seemed to happen.
I have since tried numerous other settings and again, very little (if anything), is happening.

I am leaving the parameter 'any class' selected in the 'from' box and have also tried a few of the others.

Is this process not yet fully functional or am I not doing something right??  I am using build 1745

It seems like it will  be a very impressive to function to have and I'd love to be able to figure it out!!  It would also be good to be able to export a point file (las etc) of individual class types.

Can anyone tell me what the default settings for 'classify ground points' are (max distance, max angle, cell size)?  I have adjusted mine and forgotten what the defaults were.  Every time I close and re-open PS it maintains my last set parameters and does not return to the default.

Many thanks.

max distance: 15
max angle: 1
cell size: 50

in build 1754

Thanks!
