Feature Requests / Re: Orthophoto from aligned cameras
« on: September 16, 2014, 07:20:16 PM »
Sure this is a way, but in this case ghosting problems related to normals on edges, especially in very articulated scenes are problematic.
There are very cheap softwares capable to rectify and mosaic photos using control points, add such a feature in addition to te generation of a true orthophoto from a model, would be interesting and, sometimes, time saving.

best regards,

Diego.

Feature Requests / Orthophoto from aligned cameras
« on: September 15, 2014, 08:05:15 PM »
Hello,
we are considering an interesting option to add to your orthophotos features, we’d like to know if it would be possible to obtain an orthomosaic (orthophoto from rectified photos) after only the align photos and optimize the alignment. So it would be possible to make orthophotos without dense cloud and mesh generation.
Kind regards,
Diego.
P.S. It also would be useful, especially in large dset, to know how many photos are disabled on a chunk, not only the aligned.

General / Gpu processing failed CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATON_FAILURE
« on: September 04, 2014, 10:27:11 AM »
Hello everybody,
I’ve got a problem, I’ve changed GC, I installed a GTX 770 4gb, yesterday I tried it with a dset, but I got this message:
CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATON_FAILURE
Gpu processing failed, switching to cpu mode
So the soft wasn’t able to use GPU?
Any suggestion?, I think I’ve made a configuration mistake while installing the gpu…

Thanks,

Diego.

General / Re: Importing georeferenced .obj model to Meshlab

Another way could be usign the new beta relese of meshlab that allows to use control points in txt fomat to allign meshes :) it's a cool tool... It works better if you avoid gegraphical coordinates, keep the topo data unreferenced (origin 0,0,0) and it will work quiet well ;)

so, few updates :)

Lehman sent me the dataset, soon I'll share part of it since it's over 290 photos big.....

the photos allign, the overlap and sidelap quality it's good, but the point cloud is full of noise, soon I'll perform undestorting routine with Photoshop and compare the result :)

Hi KarolBastardKiter,

what about exif and focal lenght?

GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition focal length = 2.98 mm..... your new lens has a Focal Length of 5.5mm.... since I think Photoscan uses exif to compute geometry may be could be also helpful to manually edit the exif....

how does the focus works?

thaks :)

P.S. the waterproof case is usefull to protect the camera while landing a fixed wing UAV.

Cool!!!! Material  ;D

The videos are amazing!

about the apple how would you comsider the mesh quality? did you try using a different camera in order to evaluate the differences? may be also using soft like cluod compare? Was it difficoult to change the lenses? does the camera still fit in the protective case?

Lehman answered me, they're going to send me a photogrammetric set taken with gopro. As soon as it arrives I'll share it with you :)

thanks KarolBastardKiter!

Hi everybody,

Thanks for all the material you're sharing, If undestorted lenses works nicely (also the photosho option looks good actually), LA200 plus some extras for camera, could became a cheap and efficent alternative to the expensive sensefly (you could save about 12k)! I'm trying to make an apointment to test LA 200 flight capabilities. As soon as one of you has the flat lenses kit I'd like to see some snaps.

Hi Piste, can you share your camera settings?

As soon as Lehman answer I'll post updates.

In the meantime good survay :)

I'd also like to know how and if this lenses would effect the software.....

I'm asking this becouse in this case this UAS could became a very interesting deal!

Hi SAV,

Thanks for your answer! it's an usual topic on this forum the one regarding GoPro cameras!

this lens seems to deal grat with fisheye distortion..... does anybody have an idea about how this would perform with photoscan?

http://ragecams.com/shop/54mm-flat-lens-hero3black-phantom-vision2-p-631.html

I'd love to try a dataset created wit this lens....
If this thing works in not only the phnatom vision but also the lheman aviation cheap UAS could perform good aerial survay....
I work at the University, we have 2 good pro drones, but we also have a lot of students, so having something cheap to make them exercise with would be great :)

anyway thanks a lot!
