Agisoft Viewer / Agisoft Viewer
« on: April 16, 2023, 08:10:25 PM »
Dear friends,
It would be nice to have the ability to rotate the view while in drawing mode. Something like Ctrl  + Pick for view rotation.

Best regards,
Darko

General / Multi Camera Aligment
« on: March 11, 2022, 04:33:26 PM »
Hi Guys,
I have the multicam rig with two same cameras (A6000+25mm). The master is Nadir while the Slave is 6cm behind and 2cm lower from the master position and aiming right 20deg and  20deg front from the nadir direction. My GNSS antenna was 1.04m above, 0.85m behind and 0.88m to the left from the master camera center. So my GNSS offset was X=-0.88, Y=-0.85 and Z=+1.04 from the master camera while the slave offset was X=0, Y=-0.06, Z=-0.02. Is it so?

I have tried the aligment and the result was with the errors of aprox 3m. Than I have used 2 chunks, first with Nadir camera and offsets for Master, reuslting in the precision measured in mm. The same I got for the second chunck for the oblique camera and offset recalculated to the center of Slave, X=-0.88, Y=-0.79 and Z=+1.06. Perfect aligment with separate chunks and chatastrofic when working with multicam.

Where is the mistake?

General / Rigid Multi Camera Workflow
« on: August 03, 2021, 01:12:17 PM »
Hello,

Recently we have bought FOXTECH 3DM V3 Oblique Camera. That is the rig that consists of five cameras. One nadir and 4 oblique at 45 degrees. The nadir camera has 25mm lens while oblique cameras have 35mm lens. The rig is so small that the position shift for each camera is negligible. All the cameras are triggered at the same time and the photos have the same name. Since each has it's own SD card there is no confusion and it's been organized on my HD in 5 separate folders with the same name for each photo group that's been taken from the same position. My drone is equipped with the PPK GNSS so I have the position for each group of 5 photos with the same name but different folder.

What should I do next, how to load those photos with the same names? How to align it? Can someone give me the idea what's the workflow for such a system, please.

Best regards,
Darko

General / POWERTOWER reconstruction after Detect POWERLINES
« on: February 17, 2021, 07:43:53 PM »
:) . GREAT FEATURE. That feature can truly replace powerlines lidear scan. Much better since the result is pure 3D vector. The next problem is the power tower that is way too hollow for the proper 3d reconstruction. I have tried to get the dense point cloud from the really dense aero set of photos but the results were very poor dense cloud. No way to draw that tower from that data. I have tried to compare the point cloud taken by lidar scan and it was much denser. The photos were taken with 2cm ground resolution with the 85% overlap and the dense cloud was done by the ULTRA HIGH setup and disabled depth filtering.
Any idea ??

General / Town 3D Model
« on: September 18, 2020, 11:09:53 AM »
Hi,

I am trying to make the best possible town 3D model in TLS format. So far I had a nice result with Sony 16mm lens (A6000) and about 80% overlap in both directions. The ground resolution was 5 cm and photos  taken from nadir. The problem I have is that I am not allowed to fly on such high altitude any more because of the new regulations and since then I never succeeded to get so nice model with good facades.

I have tried to combine the nadir photos with leaned, side taken ones, but the results were never that good.

Does anyone have a suggestion, regarding photo sessions as well as processing part, how to get the best possible model with sharp edges and good facades?

General / LIDAR Point Cloud Mesh
« on: September 01, 2020, 11:17:57 AM »
Hi,

As I see there is some problem with the Mesh created from the Lidar Point Cloud. I have tried to make it from the original photo dense point cloud with very nice results. Since I had a dense Lidar scan I assumed that this should give better result, but it didn't.

Check my results on the attached pictures, please. Both meshes were done using the same setup.

Does anyone knows where is the problem and how can it be corrected?

Best, Darko

General / Tiled Model Generation Failure
« on: August 03, 2020, 11:02:24 PM »
Dear Aleksey,
I have tried to make a TLS model from the 13 huge photos (140 Mpix), and it failed with bailing out of the program like nothing happened. Project is done so far with the successful generation of the dense cloud, DEM and orthomozaik, but failed in the TLS.
I have copied all the files to my Google Drive. Can you download it ant try it out yourself, please?

General / Heading/Roll/Pitch import
« on: May 16, 2019, 10:37:42 AM »
Hi,

My problem is the data that I get from my IMU system that gives me the orientation parameters in Roll/Pitch/Heading format. Of course I have Boresight offset data for the imu to camera (Roll/Pitch/Heading + Dx,Dy,Dz).
How can I use that data for the direct camera import?

Best regards,
Darko

General / Poor Photo Aligment
« on: April 17, 2018, 04:35:45 PM »
Hello,

I have trouble with the photos that don't want to be aligned. In that job with about 1000 photos, whatever I do about 10 photos doesn't get aligned. Those photos were taken in the deep forest without leaves. What is the best solution for this problem. All my cameras have precise photo center coordinates and are on the proper positions.

Best regards,

General / Field Camera Calibration Procedure
« on: April 16, 2018, 11:21:15 AM »
Hi,

I just want to know that I am doing it properly and if you have any suggestions you are welcome.
I am using PPK GNSS positions for my cameras so I've used the following procedure.

1. All the camera coordinates were imported together with the x/y/h precision.
2. Camera calibration was loaded from my previously adjusted job done with the GCP's.
3. Camera was set to PRECALIBRATED with FIX calibration checked.
4. Cameras were aligned with HIGH precision and GENERIC preselection.
5. 60 field measured GPC's were imported with the precision of +/- 1cm evenly spread all over the calibration field.
6. GCP's were moved to it's real position and overall precision for the control was about 0.30 m.
7. FIX calibration tag was removed from the camera calibration.
8. OPTIMIZE cameras was started with all the corrections checked.
9. Total error on control points was now 0.07m (25mm pixel size).
10. In CAMERA calibration I've switched to Adjusted values and saved the calibration in a file.

The same area was photographed once again just 10 min. after the first flight. Calibration that was saved in the previous procedure was used to redo the job. Now I've stopped on the 6th step and my precision showed 0.10 m.

Is this procedure OK? If not, where I've made a mistake and what's the way to get even better precision without GCP's?

Best regards,
Darko

General / GPS/INS offset in camera calibration
« on: May 10, 2017, 08:49:14 PM »
Hello guys,

I have PPK GNSS with the antenna installed 9 cm behind and 20 cm above my camera center. What should I write in my GPS/INS offset parameters?

General / Exterior Orientation Parameters - NOT LOADED
« on: April 05, 2017, 10:22:02 AM »
Dear Alexey,

For some, unknown reason, when I try to load orientation parameters from the TXT file it doesn't match the cameras with the coordinate file although the LABEL is the same as camera name. Instead it want's to create MARKERS with those names. Where is the problem? Is it because I did rename original pictures? I tried with the original names and it didn't work too.

Best regards,
Darko
