General / TLS to Google Earth
« on: March 19, 2017, 03:20:59 AM »
Hello,

Is there any way I can put my TLS model into the Google Earth??
I've seen so many city models that look like my TLS's in Viewer. Who makes those models. What do they use to make it?

Best regards,
Darko

General / Jumpy Viewer
« on: March 19, 2017, 03:15:03 AM »
Hi, guys

After the PC upgrade from 128Gb to 256Gb and from Win7 to Win10 something happened with the viewer and now it is not that smooth as it was. It behaves like it is working on my old laptop with 4Gb and no GPU. Tha machine has Nvidia 980 and double Xeon (32 cores with Hyperthreading). It should be smooth as silk, but it is not. Where can be the problem??

Anyway, Agi haven't done anything on Viewer in years. Please, improve it somehow since I do love your TLS and I am sure most of your users do.

Put some measuring tools in, please.

Best regards,
Darko

General / Alignment process and sparse cloud generation
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:45:15 PM »
Hi,

Sometimes I have very poor density of sparse cloud generated in the alignment process and later my dense cloud portions are missing because of that. Why is this happening and what can I do about that to make it more dense. Does it depend on the quality of photos and how? Should my photos be more contrast or not? How about deep shadows, should I edit and make parts of the photo more visible, take it out of the shadow?

Best regards,
Darko

Agisoft Viewer / Viewer upgrade
« on: November 09, 2016, 01:41:03 PM »
Hi Agi programmers, hello Aleksey,

Please do something about the Viewer. You haven't done anything for years. Give us a chance to present our work decently and in full 3D using 3D screens or projectors. It looks awesome when you see Gratz or some other town it in Smart 3D Capture viewer. It looks like a little toy town that makes our customers crazy about.

General / Mix of aerial photogrametry and batimetric survey
« on: July 25, 2016, 08:35:30 PM »
Hi,
Recently I've done a few batimetric surveys with the professional echo sounder and Rtk Gnss receiver. At the same time I've done aerial shooting with my hexa. Since the water was not too deep the Photoscan derivated the underwater model that looked very nice up to 5 m of depth. I knew that the model cannot be precise enough for surveying but the first underwater bottom brake line was so nicely visible that I've used it for the batimetry and resulting contour lines were much better than without it. Is there a way to use that kind of 3D model measured from the air to get good precise results under water?

Hi Guys,

When can we expect the new version. It's been two months that 1.1.6 has been released. Will you make changes to the Viewer too?

Feature Requests / Agisoft CAD - POSTSURVEY
« on: February 02, 2015, 11:22:49 PM »
Hi guys,

More and more I am in a need for a good drawing tool that can be used to draw a simple primitves like points and lines directly on the 3D model. The TLS model produced by the PS and viewed in the Viewer seems to be the ideal model for POST SURVEY of the model. I am just trying to imagine the abillity to have something like the Agi Viewer with the drawing options. Of course the DXF export of the drawn primitves would be required to finish up the job in some dedicated CAD SW. That is something I am willing to give money for!!!

Plese, consider my idea and if someone else thinks that it would be OK to have this AGi-Cad, please give me the supoprt so the guys from Agisoft take it seriously.

Best regards,
Darko Car

General / EDIT dense point cloud
« on: January 23, 2015, 12:05:32 PM »
Hi,

My problem is how to erase the parts of the point cloud that are hard to select since they are inside the object - valley. It would be nice to have some kind of adjustible backplane that would allow me to see and select just the points in front of the backplane. Do you have any idea how to solve that?

There is another idea about automatic filtering of points that are in isolated areas above the ground like tree branches. High quality dense point cloud with aggressive filtering does nice job eliminating the low density tree areas but some branches still remain and there is no way of filtering it because with the dense cloud classifying I can eliminate steep parts of the ground.  So, would it be possible to add a filter that would select and classify the isolated higher  parts of the point cloud somehow?

Hello,

I am just wondering is there any GIS or CAD software that can directly use the TLS produced by PhotoScan?

Hi,
To make a Viewer useful for the end customer, there is a need to install a set of measuring tools.

General / Memory consumption for EXPORT TILES
« on: November 16, 2014, 12:09:53 AM »
Hi,
I have produced ultra high quality dense cloud with 191.489.819 points. My configuration is 8 core AMD with 32 Gb RAM AND Nvidia GTX 970. Whatever setup of pixel or tile size I try the result is always the same "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY" message appears on the screen.

What is the memory configuration sufficient for this kind of job? Why it doesn't simply start to page to the disk instead of error reporting and stopping the process?

Can you, please, explain the affection of the tile and pixel size to the final quality of the model?

Best regards,
Darko

General / Photo session pattern
« on: November 13, 2014, 11:56:02 AM »
Hi,

I would like to make a good photo coverage but with minium number of photos to cover the area of a small village. The aim is to make the best possible 3D model that can be browsed in the Agisoft Viewer. So far, I have tested the grid model with the 80/80% of overlap vertical photos + oblique (45 deg) photos taken in all four directions at the same pattern. With the ground resolution of 2.5cm and 20Mpix camera for the small area of 200x250 meteres i have used 330 photos. Since my real job is much bigger is there any good idea how to reduce the number of photos and keep good model definition?

Feature Requests / 3D Stereo view - SPLIT SCREEN
« on: November 13, 2014, 11:10:00 AM »
IT would be nice to inplement the new 3D viewing hardware like SPLIT SCREEN 3D which would enable all 3D passive TV's (low cost polrized glasses) to show the stereo image.

Agisoft Viewer / AgiSoft Viewer
« on: October 23, 2014, 11:37:28 AM »
GREAT JOB !!
Finally, we have something that can be used for presentation of our job to customers and is free of charge. For now we are missing stand-alone installation. Maybe few tools can be added too, like distance measurement, profile section, coordinates of the point etc...
Models exported to the TLS  look great and the Viewer is fast..
Congratulations !!

Feature Requests / Break lines, manual DTM editing
« on: September 11, 2014, 10:24:03 AM »
Hi,
I am a professional surveyor and was suprised with the automatic functions that really work in Photoscan. So far, I am very happy with the photo alignment and really fast production of the orthophoto. But, for the final result, I need to have much simpler and accurate DTM that can be used for the contour generation. For now, I am just exporting the orientation australis file as well as camera calibration and using it in Photomod to finalize the product, BUT I would like to be able to make it directly in the Photoscan. For that I would like to have some aditional 3D screen that would enable me to draw my breaklines and ground points manually. So, the final outcome DTM shouldn't have millions of points but rather hundreds. That's something that surveyors need to represent the terrein as simple as possible but accurate.
Is there a chance to have such a funcion in the future version of the Photoscan? Or, if you have any better idea than Photomod (Racurs), please, advise me.
