General / Optimize camera locations and point cloud
« on: September 11, 2023, 07:48:45 PM »
Hi everybody
I have noticed that in the latest versions, when I optimize the calculations, the dense point cloud and mesh are no longer deleted, but are maintained. Should I recalculate them as before? In previous versiones  they were deleted when camera positions were optimized.
Thanks

General / Crash with cameras from two sources
« on: July 13, 2021, 11:28:57 AM »
Hi

I´m in process with a job with photos from a DSRL and a DJI drone.

Metashape align these images with no problem (sparse model OK), but It will crash when calculating dense cloud.

Is this a normal behaviour? I mixed several cameras in the past and no problem.......

Thanks in advance

General / rig-camera project to measure stockpiles
« on: January 30, 2021, 12:54:21 PM »
Hi all:

I have in mind a possible project, an idea to measure stockpiles instantly in real time.

The idea came to me when I saw the model capture projects with the multi-camera (rig-budget) systems.

The idea would be to measure an isolated stockpile of terrain or gravel within an industrial building. Fixed cameras would be placed around the object to be shot synchronously and those images would be used to model and calculate a volume.

Does anyone have experience or know of a similar project calculated with metashape?

I am looking for general information on its viability.

Thanks.

« on: December 13, 2020, 12:41:03 PM »
I'm trying several tests with terrestial laser scanner data.
Importing succesful with E57 and other formats.
Even success running ground clasificación tool. Very good results with this.
But I cant buil a mesh from this data.
There is a way to get this whitout any images in the project?
Any suggested workflow?
Thanks.

Feature Requests / Spanish geoid rednap08
« on: November 15, 2020, 10:48:22 PM »
Hi everybody.
I have seen the list of geoids available on the web.  In Europe I even see one created for Portugal.  Would it be possible to have one with the official data of Spain?
I have tried to create it myself but it doesn't work properly.
It would be great to have it created directly by the creators of the software.
Thanks

General / HELP :compound coodinate system
« on: December 19, 2019, 07:58:49 PM »
Hi:
I am trying to create a "compound coordinate system," that is, by adding a reference geoid or "vertical coordinate system."

We tried to create a user-defined coordinate system but failed.

I need to create a compound system with UTM31 ETRS89 (EPSG 25831) and  EGM08 rednap geoid, they are reference systems in Spain.

It could also be a system composed of EPSG 25831 and the EGM2008 geoid.

Anyone know how to create it in Metashape?

I saw the possibility of importing a file type * .prj into metashape:

Anyone know with what tool you can create the prj file to import?

Thank you

General / HOW TO STORE METASHAPE PROJETS
« on: February 28, 2019, 12:21:40 PM »
Hi:

I need to remove some projects from ny local PC an store them in the local server at my office.

If I save the project (psx) itself: Do I need to store the original images too?

I need to save as much space as I can.

Thanks

Feature Requests / Set angle for orthomosaic planar
« on: January 24, 2019, 07:16:34 PM »
Hi everybody:

It would be great i I could introduce an exactly angle rotation in the dialog Build Orthomosaic--->projection--->planar--->Rotation angle.

I can choose 90-180-270 rotation angle but I need to input a calculated angle.

Otherwise: Can I align the view exactly with that angle? So I would choose Build Orthomosaic--->projection--->planar--->current view

Thanks

General / Simplify contours?????
« on: January 24, 2019, 07:04:58 PM »
Hi everybody

I´ve noticed that the option "simplyfy contours" has been removed from the dialog about generate contours. A new item appears here : "prevent intersections"

I think that "simplify contours" was very useful and it would be great if you could add it again.

Thanks.

Python and Java API / Script to match Z axis
« on: June 26, 2014, 05:43:46 PM »
Hi

I need to match the Z axis of my model (calculate via survey gpc) and the Region Box Z axis.

So I need to create the mesh in height field mode but the program uses the z axis of the Box and this is no the real vertical direction.

Does anyone know a script to do this action?

General / Referenced chunck. Problems with Z axis
« on: June 26, 2014, 02:51:45 PM »
Hi:

I have a problem with a chunk wiyh referenced topographic coordinates. This is a job of aerial photogrammetry.
The model has the z axis correctly calculated,  but the z axis of the Region Box does not match. When I calculate the mesh in  height field mode the progran work along the  z axis of the Region Box not the model z axis one.
How I can make the z axis of the Region Box to engage the z axis model?

General / Processing images from scanner
« on: February 28, 2014, 01:28:58 PM »
hi all

I'm trying to process a set of images on paper but scanned with a highly accurate scanner.

I know the focal length of the camera that took the pictures but this data is not included in the exif of the images.

Is it necessary to enter the focal? How is it done?
