Can anyone give me a good explanation of what filter threshold actually does? I didn't find the explanation in the manual satisfying. If anyone has an example to show that would be much appreciated.

General / Using GeoTIFF DEM in ArcGis

Anyone have any experience using the contour function in ArcGis with DEMs from PhotoScan? I am having some serious problems creating contours from the DEMs. I think a part of the problem is due to the fact that there is an area around the model that has a negative value of 32767. This can be visually turned of in ArcGis, but when the contour is calculated it is still counted. This negative value is giving me a huge headache with more than just this function. Anyone know a way to edit the geotiff to remove this value?

General / crop of invalid DEM

How does this work? I tried it but it doesn't appear to change the fact that I get a negative value of 32000 or so on any DEM I export. The high value is okay, but the low value is always shown as ca -32000. I can bypass this visually, but the data is there still. Anyone else try this?

General / Modeling an axe blade

I have an axe blade that I am trying to model, but I am having a hard time getting the model to be 360. It seems that it is having problems with the narrow sides of the axe, like it isn't getting enough information. I tried taking a lot more pictures from that angle, but it only work for one of the sides. Anyone have any tips? I am masking the images by the way.

General / Problems with DEM in ArcGis

Hi

I am trying to import a DEM of a 3D model into ArcMap 10, but every time I try it seems that the DEM has wrong spatial information compared to the geographical one, even though I set it to be the same in photoscan as in arcmap. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

General / Low GPU Usage during Dense Cloud creation

I have observed that my gpu is not being pushed to it's limit, but is being utilized rather minimally. My cpu is running at close to full speed. I have turned on open cl and disabled two cores.

Specs:
ASUS GTX570 DirectCU II
AMD Phenom II X6 1090t
12 GB 1600 DDR3

General / no open cl devices?

I just bought a asus geforce 570 gtx but there aren't any open cl devices showing in the settings on photoscan professional. I had a hd 5870 card that showed up, but this one doesn't. I did a complete reinstall of photoscan, as well as updating all the drivers and removing all software related to my old card. It works just fine with everything else, it is just in photoscan it doesn't show. Any ideas???

I am running Photoscan on a computer with a Gigabyte HD5870 and I am wondering if this improves performance when deactivating cores from my AMD Phenom II X6 1090t? Or is it recommended that I change to a GeForce card?

General / cpu vs gpu

Is it possible to get a better explanation of the cpu-gpu option in photoscan? I run a INTEL Core i7 720QM with 8 cores @1.6GHz and a GeForce GTX 260M with 14 cores @1375MHz. I can't figure out what combination is the most efficient. Any tips?
