it was on 1.6.2 but I fixed it by switching of HID controller completely and then restart metashape I did not had problems after this
before I deactivated it but did not restart

this is ridiculus i have tried all night to get some work done but the current version is constantly crashing to desktop after a few minutes in dense point generation
ccould you please make version 1.5.2 build 7838 availible vor download this is the last one i used sucesfull

ok i testet it on my mac and it showed the exact same behaviour
on my windows machine i tried it and it works but it gives me a lot of jitter and if i need to do nome work other that movenig around i have to disconect the spacemouse since it can randomly move the model
also when switching HID controler on and of in the preferences gave me crashes to desktop on mac and windows

hi
what you can try in the meantime is what I do I also use far away photos to help with navigation and alignment but after that I deactivate the photos for further processing including the ortho image generation so that metashape is not "tempted" to use these since it is easy

iam runnning metashape professionel 1.6.2 build 10247 64bit on Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4
since I upgraded to the latest version my space mouse 3d compact stopped working it is still working fine in other applications and fun enough it is also working if I have the driver settings window of 3d connexion in the foreground I can move my model in metashape but whenever I make agisoft active window by clicking on it I loose the space mouse this behavior is only seen in metashape and only since I updated
any advice

thanks for the reply that was really helpful
i was looking for the error like a madman I did not even know about the windows event viewer here I found what I was looking for it is indeed a Nvidia problem I will mail the logs to you in a moment maybe you can understand what is going on.
I tried the driver reinstall a few days back but the problem still occurs ...

General / 30day trial on Mac terminal registration

while I figure out my Metashape crashes which takes almost a week now to investigate.

I need a backup solution so I was trying to register a 30day trial on my MacBook Pro 2017 in the mean time so that I can get some stuff done.
however when I chose the option I get an error can't write license file
when I usually activate the license on the Mac I use a terminal command so I have it automated but there seems to be no -argument to install the demo.
anyone with some advice

i have that very combination of processor and os I have the update installed ant it might me around that time when the problems startet.

i will run the memtest next and report back

edit:
memtest completed after 12hours with 0 errors I have now reinstalled Metashape and lets see what this gives us

i have re installed all the graphics drivers and it seemed to work but after one day I had the same issues again.
now I have almost uninstalled anything that might interfere with it and I probably reinstall the whole PC.
but I have some new observations since I was present at the time of the crash
the screen became black for a second or two even gaining into standby since there was no signal then the screen came back on but Metashape was gone and I can only see the desktop no errormessage or anything

hi
I work on a new machine which used to work ok for two weeks or so but now I get crashes on dense point generation.
it is a problem of which I found some examples here but mostly older
its the filtering and then it crashes to the desktop and once it crashed all together.
it is a Nvidia GeForce RTX2080-O8G card and as I understand in the older forum posts even if its a CPU work they usually had the issue after changing the graphics card or could solve it by changing it.
i have deleted and reinstalled all the graphics drivers and trying now
crash report was not generated I got a message that it crashed but that it could not access the crash dump?
i have the log file however wich is very long...

i have done similar things and it works great
check that you use the same EPSG code and compare coordinates maybe on one dataset you have the zone number included in the easting or something like that

highlight two markers - right click create scale - enter the legth in the reference tab

if its posible use a kite that should work just fine
otherwise use a long pole and take oblique photos from the pole driving or walking transects
depends on the type of terrain you might be better off using the panorama mode and create your model from a large number of panorama stations
