General / batch ortho image saving
« on: January 09, 2015, 11:32:24 AM »
hello
right now iam to stupid to figure that out:
i have a project with about 30 chucks and i whant to uste the batch processing ortho image export (thanks for adding that by the way)
but if i enter a filename for export in the batch dialog the file gets overwritten with the next chunk what do i have to add to make this work is there a wildcard of some sort?
if i leave the file path black it creates files but i cant find them in the old version they where in the same directory as the photoscan file but they are not there ...
thanks for any advise

General / Cammera selection again
« on: June 18, 2014, 09:49:28 PM »
Hi everyone out there
Iam following the cammera tips for a wile now especialy around the nikon 7100 discussion
I will tell you what i need to do and ask you for some tipps
Iam lookingnfo a good slr for outdoor use no studio
I will use tripos most of the time as for this special job architecture is the object light conditions schould be mixed
I am aiming for a 1mm immage resolution with my 28mm i use so far i will be 7 m away
I have a very good nikor 50 mm lens which i would love to benable tonuse as well but this is not a game changer
So i was considering the 7100 for the extra pixels more distance less shots less moving around with the tripod

So which cammera would you sugest for the scenario and even more important what lens iam looking for fixed lenses in the area of 10 24_28 and 50 mm or do you sugest a tele lens  i had the impression that for sfm a wide angle is better than a tele also for the insides it can be usefull to have 10mm in smal places
Thanks very much

Python and Java API / exporting dem and ortho
« on: May 22, 2014, 11:20:47 AM »
hey i am working on a project where i will have to exort dem and orthophotos of several files is there a way so i can export them all in one go.
right now i ha ve to open each file press export orthophoto set the settings and wait for 15 minutes then agiain selecting export dem and wait a wile
then agian select export orthophoto as kmz and then the dem as sputnik kmz.
i can make all the files into chunks but then there is no batch processing for exorting orthoimages .... or ist there any way does anyone has a script for that?

General / anaglyph collor curves
« on: May 18, 2014, 02:22:26 PM »
hello everyone and dear agisoft team
i would like to congratulate the agisoft team for their great performance with the anaglyph colloring
it workes very very good on all my monitors and with all my glases.
however iam about to render a scene in blender from one of my models
i plan to use this procedure
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGFHG5f9WNY
but i think the reults in this example are inferiour to the agisoft performance how do you set the collors what kind of reduction percentage or collor combination do you use to have this great effect.
thanks a lot

General / closing holes just in selectet areas
« on: May 18, 2014, 10:22:33 AM »
hello
iam trying to combine two chunks to one model and in the areas they overlap the geometry is not realy identicalk since the resolution is diferent and i have the upturning waves as a relict of arbitrary reconstruction so if i cut and delete al the parts i dont like usualy there is a smal gap which i vafour instead of a bad overlap which wil just make me trouble in the rendering (flickering textures and such)
but i dont know of any way to close the holes nicely. i can use the close holes tool but in nearly every setting it will make higly unwantet triangles trying to close things which need to be open....
ususaly what i do is close holes then leave the changes selectet (which is a nice freature) then unselect the areas i whant to keep and delete the rest
however this does not work here becuase the triangles of the closing blocking themselfes so i cannot go to the ones i what to keep to unselect them ... also my alternate plan does not work by closing the holes and then deleting big triangles by gradual selecting them acording to ther size because i would lose to many good ones to get rid of the bad ones.
so what iam looking fore is a way to close this by just closing the holes in a selectet area or a other way to fix my model maybe in blender or so
best regards

General / stability problems release 1.0.4 build 1847
« on: May 13, 2014, 11:15:25 AM »
hello
just the other day i was saying to myself wow what a stable program PS is i did have like 5-6 hard crashes with it in about a year of nearly daily use and then came 1847.....
i had about 15 total ctd since that mostly with minor stuff like pressing the button to import gcp or right click and then select change image path so nothing high intensity workstuff just everyday things in the normal workflow the import gcp gives me a ctd in about 25% of all cases...
since my files are large i dont want to save every 10 minutes because it takes 10 minutes to save and due to my own failure i already lost a whole week of work with a file which dstroyed itself in a ctd with exactly that
it was a 8gb file then i had a ctd and it was 10mb and could not be opened anymore.
righ now i again lost work worth an hour and i wonder i someone else noticed the same stuff...
iam always sending  the report to agisoft and hope this helps to solove the stability problems realy fast....

General / Export to blender in high resolution
« on: May 13, 2014, 08:30:13 AM »
hello everyone
whenever i create a model iam limited by my graphics card (quadro) to only 16324 x 16324 pixel which is a shame taken the pricetag of this card....
anyway i whant to create a realy nice walktrouh in my object as a video in blender since the object is big the details get a bit blurred even on this size when i start walking :-)
is there any way to increase texture size or what workflow could be used can i use the face collors from the shaded mode in PS for my render since it got more details then the textured
thanks

General / 3d Viewer and MEASUREMENT for underground stuff
« on: April 30, 2014, 01:02:32 PM »
hello
so i have made my 3D models from underground quarries and now iam in the stage to make them accessable for my team so i need a good piece of software to display my results and also to take measurements.
i tried sputnik wich seem slike a tool with potetial but i can only use it for "open" features
what i need now is smo viewer where i can actualy go inside my modell like i can in PS and take measuremments there (which was posible in PS not long ago) the measurements i need will be distances straigt and sloped as well as ellevation diferences and areas the volumes i can take from PS.
and it should not be to complicated sincy my colleague has absolutly no clue on 3d modelling and GIS stuf and i need to show her a quick and easy way to get the data she needs while i am in the field
best regards

General / baseline filters (overlap optimisation)
« on: April 11, 2014, 12:31:12 PM »
hi
iam using a kit for my aerials with an intervallometer
this works quite good but sometimes I have to stop or walk slower or faster because of the wind changes or obstacles on the ground. also the wind directions change
in the end I have way to many images on some parts of my modell and just about enough on others
is there any way I can get rid of images photoscan does not need or are even bad for the modell since the baseline of the stereopirs would be to small.
any ideas .... iam talking about setzs of 600 to 1100 images here and I can not select them manualy so usualy I use more or les all but of course this takes very much computer time and if there is a function like this I might as well use it.
thanks
a lot

« on: October 22, 2013, 03:48:28 PM »
hi
just came along this nice new feature and a test with default setings gave impresive results however i would be thankfull for some more insight into the actual setings and what they do.
the helpfile does not help since it seems to be from the old version.

General / Underground work
« on: June 17, 2013, 06:51:42 PM »
hi
after an sucsesfull season this year with only some tests with photoscan along traditional survey we foud that it is by far the best way to record ancient quarries in our project however the work from this year was only done in daylight. next season we will try to do some work in the underground. so iam gattering ideas on lighting and procedures. how the quarries look can be seen on the picture

so it is many corners and edges.
would be great if you could share your thougts on propper procedures for photography and ilumination
thanks

General / 3d mode
« on: May 30, 2013, 09:56:33 PM »
hello,
i usualy use anaglyph if i whant to watch my model in 3d or search for errors which are much easier to find in 3d.
however anaglyph is not realy good since i usualy have some gohst images and also it is hard to make a clear cut with the selection tools.
therefore i would like to use a different technique like shutter glasses or so. i use a 3monitor setup and can not change my monitors is there a system which is knwn to work with photoshop. i have my old edimensional glases bud they refused to work properly with xp so i doubt they will in win 8.
best regards

General / how to find bad alligned photos
« on: April 30, 2013, 07:16:21 PM »
when looking at my sparse point cloud i can see a whole bunch of wrong points. the seem to form a second Chostsrface floating over the actual one. when building geometry i get a mushrom like shape bloming on tom in arbitraty mode and in high field many spikes....
so i would like to get rid of thes points but gradual selection and manual deleting does not work so i would like to find out which cameras are responsible for these pionts without having to realign all pictures is there a way to know from wich camera these points came or to speed up testing.
