General / Re: Agisoft Metashape 2.2.0 pre-release

The NVIDIA version 566.14 driver is working as expected with Metashape Pro version 2.2.0 build 19440.

Just a note, the NVIDIA app has an automatic tuning feature that safely overclocks your NVIDIA GPU and doesn't affect the warranty.

Hello José,

Can you provide a couple of screenshots and also confirm that the problem is not related to NVIDIA 565-566 drivers bug (same problem if blending is performed on CPU only)?

I have just tried to build texture based on spherical panoramas in 2.2.0.19440 and cannot see any issues.

What is the NVIDIA 565-566 drivers bug? I am currently using Metashape Pro version 2.1.3 build 18946 with NVIDIA driver 566.14, after running Build_Texture the texture looks really messed up, but Build Orthomosaic works fine. What version NVIDIA driver is recommended?

I just saw the thread for the pre-release this evening. I downloaded it and will start using it.

Feature Requests / ability to hide camera groups from model view
« on: December 21, 2023, 06:06:15 PM »
The ability to hide camera groups from the model view would make it easier to select cameras by reducing the number of cameras visible in the view.

This feature was actually in earlier versions of Photoscan. Here is a link to  a Photoscan project file from 2017 that contains a planar ortho with local coordinates.

https://digital-mapping.net/metashape/Photoscan_2017_ortho_with_local_coordinates.zip

When you view the ortho in Metashape, you can see the local coordinates for the planar profile displayed in the bottom right corner of the program window.
If you export the planar ortho with a world file, the world file also contain the local coordinates for the planar projection.

Version 2.1.0 build 17262
In the Photos panel I right clicked on a photo, and chose Change Path.... In Relocate Photos I choose All images and hit OK, then navigate to the new folder and select the listed photo. When I double click an image in the Photos pane it opens the image in a tab. If I right click on an image with only one image selected and then select Check Paths it indicates No missing images detected. If I right click on an image and select Check Paths and then select All images, it indicates missing images and displays the old path. If I run Build Orthomosaic... then hit OK it indicates Missing Images and displays the old path.

11/14/2023 update
This appears due to a few missing photos in the folder. Sorry for not discovering this before the previous post. I think I am becoming senile   :-\

Hi Alexey,
Sorry for the erroneous last post  :-[.

Past versions of Photoscan  used to include coordinates in the world file for planar projections (I have attached such a world file from 2017). The elevation was used for the "Y" axis. Could this feature be restored in this release?

Here is a screenshot of 2017 planar profiles in Global Mapper:

Is it possible to install a version of Photoscan Pro (where the profile world file worked) with Metashape Pro still installed?

I have posted more about this in a feature request thread, it includes a link to a 2017 Photoscan project file that has a planar orthomosaic with local coordinates.

Hi Alexey, this is very useful, thanks.

I noticed that when importing models it doesn't replace the active model, and it doesn't prompt to keep, or replace the active model. This should allow for batch importing of models. That would be very handy for importing the 4 profiles of an excavation square after cleaning them up in another application  :).

Feature Requests / Use elevation for Y value in Planar mosaic world file.

It would be very useful if the elevation was used for the Y value in Planar mosaic world files.

These are excavation profiles in Global Mapper:

There is an issue with Build Orthomosaic >  Planar.

Here is a screenshto

Update 10/27/2023:
Oops! this post was a mistake, I didn't realize it had actually posted until now.

25
When I used a projection it wrote the metadata file. It would be good if it also worked for Local Coordinates, often times for excavations my ground control points are in local coordinates.

Another thing I noticed. I think in the past when I made a planar orthomosaic,  the world file that was written used the elevation for the Y value. That is not the case in version 2.1.
If I'm not remembering correctly please make it a feature request  :).

Hi Alexey,

The option was in the dialog box to "Write metadata.xml file". I checked it, but it did write the file.

Update 10/26/2023
If I click on the calculator on the import dialog, it applies the same shift values as when exported. That is very handy  :).

27
Thanks Alexey,
I will check it out today.

It would function like a world file used for GIS data.

Feature Requests / simple text file with shift values for model import
« on: October 24, 2023, 05:03:18 AM »
It would be handy if a simple text with shift values could be used when importing models, instead of entering them into the dialog box. It would also be handy if Metashape wrote such a file when it exported a model.

General / Re: Calibrate Colors - restrict calibration to enabled photos
« on: October 24, 2023, 12:24:56 AM »
Hi,

yes, the calibration process is applied only to the photos that are currently enabled.

Best Regards,
Photo

Thanks for the reply Photo, but I'm not sure you are right about that. Anyway if you have the possibility to use the "Match Total Exposures" in Adobe Lightroom, the results were much better in my case.
