General / Incorrect Show image with calibration with k4

Hello all,

i have a project where my images (M3E) were adjusted using k1,k2,k3,k4 radial parameters in camera calibration. But when I do show Images in model view, the corners of projected image on model are chopped off when I would expect to have a pointed pattern (push pin). AS you can see in following the top left corner of projected  image is chopped off... in radial distorsion plot it is clear that in corners, there is up to 670 pixel distorsion....

Any explanation for this behavior? This does not occur if I calibrate with just k1,k2,k3 radial distorsion...

General / Incremental alignment

Hi my friends,

I have a set of some 2400 images that I have aligned in 2.0.2 with Keep key points checked. I then saved as a 1.8 compatible  psz. I sent this project  to a Work station with Agisoft 1.8 installed.

I then used incremental image alignment to add some 1000 extra images and alignment was successful. However the original point cloud or tie points vanished and only the new tie points created from the added images appear...

What is going wrong?

Feature Requests / Improving Calculate Profile tool

This new tool is very interesting but could be improved:

• Having the possibility to display points in profile with their real colors or classes instead of default blue;
• Permitting a selection of points in profile and assignment of class as in GM Lidar module.

This would make this interesting tool even more useful!

General / Point cloud profile

In the latest release, we have a tool Calculate Profile that enables us to show a point cloud profile. Very good!

When I draw a line on my point cloud, I get a cloud profile with blue dots representing points on the cloud, whose density varies according to slider rule width of profile. But what does the color graded background (cold to hot as DEM palette) represent? see following...

Maybe some more info on this tool could be helpful,

General / Importing point cloud in 2.0

Hello,

I have a 67 million laz point cloud that when I try to import into Metashape 2.0.2, it starts the process and after about 10% progress, it just exits without any error or warning. This laz was created by merging 2 photogrammetric point clouds exported from Metashape in Global mapper. I did this because when I tried to merge the 2 point clouds in MS (55 million points and 12 million), it also exited.

Now I saved the project in psz compatibility 1.8, and importing the same laz cloud works (slow as importing done in memory... big file)

Any ides why this fails in version 2.0 as well as merging 2 point_clouds....?

General / DJI Meta Yaw, Pitch, Roll data not read correctly

Hello all,

I am noticing that Agisoft Metashape Professional Version: 2.0.1 build 15925 (64 bit) does not read correctly the Gimbal Yaw, Pitch and roll for Mavic 3E images with high roll. For example, I have an image whose DJI meta data has:

Seems angle convention is not correct... I can share an image with support so you can look at it, please....

General / Low resolutionSatellite Base map

Hello,

recently I notice that the satellite base map is low resolution and when zooming in is useless. As seen in screen capture the satellite  base map is from Sentinel-2 and very coarse compared to previous MapBox Satellite data...

What has happened?

During the matching points phase, the program exits without error. I would like to know if something can be done to remedy this.  It seems i could align such size datasets previously....

I attached the Windows error events I could associate with this occurence...

Agisoft Viewer / Visualizing DEM in Agisoft Viewer

I am loading a DEM and Ortho into Agisoft viewer.

I can see the Ortho but when I check the DEM it does not appear...

See attachement shows on left with DEM and Ortho checked (no dem display) and on right half only Ortho checked it displays but at a lower altitude as it use the global DEM model which is smoother and different than loaded DEM.

Why can I not see the dem

in the Spanish (español) UI, please make following changes:

• in Convert Reference or Reference settings, the rotation angles drop down menu should have 3rd option be Phi, Omega, Kappa instead of Omega, Phi, Kappa. See 1st attachment;
• in Cameras context menu change Mofer to Mover. See 2nd attachment/li]

Agisoft Cloud / Unable to load project

Hi all,

I have a project with 104 20 Mpix aligned fotos, depth maps and texturized model that I want to load to my account in Agisoft Cloud. It start to load images but after about 2% Metashape closes without any message and I must delete the lock to be able to open the project.

This happened many times.

Any help, please.

Feature Requests / Redoing OrthoMosaic using exisying orthos

Sometime we want to redo an OrthoMosaic using different option but without need to redo individual image ortho.

Would be good to have an option to use existing orthos and thus avoid  to redo this part....

General / Refine seam lines in Building Orthomosaic

Hello all,

I have not been using the Refine seam lines in OrthoMosaicking but in my latest project (248 Vexcel 115 Mpix nadir images over an urban/industrial area), I tried it and got quite disappointing results.

First the processing increases greatly. It took some 68623.7 sec or some 19 hours to build Ortho. See attached log file....

Also the result is not great. While in some areas it does seem to avoid structures or buildings, in other areas ( in areas of lateral overlap) it creates a great amount of small seam lines islands that render the area blurry because of feathering. See 2nd attachment.

In current state this refine seamlines is not very useful as it leads to a lot of manual patching.

Hope the function will be improved as for now I will be using a competitor software for seam line refinement...

Update: I reran the orthomosaicking but this time without Refine Seamlines option. While process time is less the result is still not good with huge amoount of seamlines islands that render this result not usable, see 3rd attachment
