General / Automated Mission Planning
« on: January 05, 2023, 05:24:29 PM »
Hello all,

in Automated Mission Planning of User Manual it is said that mission can be exported in following formats:
Code: [Select]
Mission format
Specify mission formats from drop-down list. In Metashape available the following formats: DJI
Pilot, DJI WPML (WayPoint Markup Language) or Google Earth.

I would like to confirm if such DJI formats are compatible with Mavic 3 Enterprise running Pilot 2 app.

Thanks for any insights on this...

General / Vexcel UltraCam oversampled image
« on: December 13, 2022, 01:12:39 AM »
Hi all.

I am processing images from a UltraCam Osprey whose pan camera has a resolution of 13 470 x 8 670 pixel. But the images we received are oversampled to 20205 x 13005 pixel (factor of 1.5).

Alignment of these oversampled images gives me some weird results. Is it recommended to use the original image resolution in processing?

Your input will be greatly appreciated... :)

General / Shooting interior with Nikon D5300
« on: October 27, 2022, 07:57:42 PM »
Hello all,

I am a newbie at doing photoscans of interiors. I recently tried shooting the living room in my house with a Nikon D5300 with a 18mm-55mm zoom lens set to 18 mm. I shot some 40 pictures using a photographer tripod with  remote click using wifi connection to my smart phone. The photos (24  Mpix APS-C format) were taken at f/8 with aperture priority and have a good depth of field inf (1.27 m - inf).

However when I run the image quality tool, I get awful results (in the 0.30 range).... see following:
Code: [Select]

I understanf that with relatively low lighting, the ISO will be quite high but why is the quality so bad? I must be missing something in the Nikon settings

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Following is a link to some of the photos (jpg and NEF) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14OcZvRIV4emiGImzqirzJnH-YXMVAenK?usp=sharing

Obviously with such bad quality the alignment is fatal... :(

Python and Java API / Exporting multiple orthomosaics in a chunk
« on: July 15, 2022, 09:18:19 PM »
Hello,

I have a chunk with many orthomosaics (only one as default). I want to loop thru all the orthomoasics in the chunk, activate it (set as default) export it then go to next, activate and export.

How do I activate (set as default) an orthomosaic in a chunk with API?

Help will be appreciated...

PS I found the solution myself...to activate or set as default a given ortho you just:
Code: [Select]
for ortho in chunk.orthomosaics:
     chunk.orthomosaic = ortho
It was that simple....

Python and Java API / Fixed Slave offset XYZ
« on: May 11, 2022, 02:21:04 AM »
Hello,

I have a dual camera rig consisting of a RGB sensor (Master) and Thermal IR sensor (slave). The offset between the 2 sensors is known (slave sensor is 7.5 cm to right of Master and 5 mm lower).

In the slave sensor  camera calibration window, in Slave offset tab, I check Adjust Location and Enable reference and then enter offset in Reference X, Y, Z as in 3rd screen copy:

However, since I want the offset to be fixed, I uncheck the Adjust location but then the whole XYZ entries are greyed out... see 1st attachment

How can we fix the XYZ slave offset (ie. not let the program adjust the location)?

PS. a possible workaround is to check Adjust Location and enter a very high accuracy for the Reference location (example 0.0005 in XYZ) and then optimize the rig cameras. You will get adjusted location offsets very close to entered values... see 2nd attachment...

Python and Java API / add Folder
« on: April 30, 2022, 05:22:57 PM »
Hello,

I would like to find in Python API the equivalent to  add folder in GUI menu WorkFlow. I see there is chunk.addPhotos() but this requires a list of photos. Is there a command for adding a folder?

Any help will be appreciated....

Python and Java API / save estimated reference error
« on: April 23, 2022, 09:42:09 AM »
Hello support,

with latest version 1.8.3, script https://github.com/agisoft-llc/metashape-scripts/blob/master/src/save_estimated_reference.py  returns an error when calling the getAntennaTransform() function.

The problem seems to be that sensor.antenna.location_ref and sensor.antenna.rotation_ref return None in latest version while it was returning a Vector in previous versions, see attachment comparing 1.7.3 and 1.8.3 behavior...

General / MetaSpatial Solutions launches Ultra Match solution
« on: April 05, 2022, 09:45:26 AM »
Dear community,

I have just been informed that MetaSpatial Solutions, an Australian based company is launching a new UltraMatch photogrammetric solution. From their User manual, I have downloaded a sample project done  with a set of IPhone 12 camera images. Looking at the supplied UltraMatch project solution, it has a very similar project structure as Agisoft....

I am curious, is this some spinoff formed with an ex Agisoft associate....?

In fact the project files are exactly Agisoft Metashape v.1.8.1. The only thing changed is project name extension ump instead of psx....Strange

General / Loading 3D tiled models in QGis
« on: April 03, 2022, 05:53:55 AM »
Hello community,

we have a project where we will create a Tiled 3d model over some 35 km2 at 10 cm resolution. Does anyone know if any of the export tiled model formats can be loaded into QGis (Cesium, Agisoft, Open scene graph,...).

Any input will be very welcome!

General / Measurement values in exponential format
« on: November 29, 2021, 07:37:20 PM »
Hello,

I have noticed that measurement values (volume, height, area) when they exceed 1 milion then they are displayed in exponential form as seen in attachement. Please could we have the values set to a certain number of decimal places and not e as this is not very meaningful....as you see volume is given as 3.969e+06 which is not very readable...

General / Define target compression JP2000 image format export
« on: October 04, 2021, 05:03:04 PM »
Hi all,

i would like to export an ortho-mosaic in JP2000 image format i.e. Metashape.ImageFormatJP2. In the export, I would like to set a target compression ratio of let's say 20:1. Is there a way to do this? In image compression class, I only see Metashape.ImageCompression().jpeg_quality which defaults to 90. But I think jpeg_quality only affects normal JPEGs....

Any insight will be appreciated,  :)

Feature Requests / Classified Dense cloud Info
« on: September 27, 2021, 07:57:11 AM »
Hi all,

it would be great if we could have in the info panel of a dense cloud, the number of points in each class (Created,Unclassified, ground,....) as right now this info is not easily available. To get it you have to dig in the appropiate doc.xml in project.files structure...
