It worked after aligning the chunks "camera based and fixed scale", Thank you!

Hello Alexey

Everything is part of the same object:

- Since my computer couldn't handle mesh generation because of RAM I've split the project in two chunks by duplicating the exiting chunk and removing one half in each chunk. They should be already aligned as the dense cloud generation was done when they were one chunk.

I've successfully generated the mesh of each side of the object but I can't seem to merge the mesh into one complete thing now.

Best,
Manuel.

General / Can´t merge chunks models

Dear All,

It seems that nothings happens when merging both chunk models into 1. Is this happening to anyone else?

Thanks,
Manuel Franquelo.

General / Re: Duplicating chunks RAM problem
« on: September 12, 2015, 08:17:43 PM »
Hello Igor,

How did you sort out your problem with RAM?

I am currently processing a project where I have about 400 million dense point cloud which results in a 50 million polygon model.
I can´t process this amount of data on my 64gb computer (the mesh generation process runs forever and usually crashes because of low memory readings)

I've just tried duplicating the chunk in two and removing half of the dense cloud in one chunk and leaving the other half on the other chunk. After that I resize the bounding box but I am not removing "unnecessary cameras". Whats that for? does it make the process to run faster?

Thanks,
Manuel.

It is a laplacian based implementation nadar, you can have a look at it in google :-)

Great thank you SC.

It's filling the holes but not with the similar surface of the neighbour structure. It does give me the mesh density needed to build / imitate the surrounding mesh, but I was wondering if there was any "clone brush" such as Photoshop's clone tool. I'd like to copy the surrounding mesh onto the new projected mesh from the lower "dense reconstruction".

Projecting details from my original sub-tool onto the new retopologized model is creating artifacts that I don't really know how to solve. (see image).  :-\ There seems to be something wrong with this model, since UV master kept crashing while it worked wonders on other retopologized models.  :'(

Thank you sc!

I'll try to do that, do both meshes have to be aligned in order to be correctly projected between each other?

General / Re: Orthomosaic generation
« on: August 13, 2015, 06:08:46 PM »
It seems like the DEM building is causing this distortion and then the orthomosaic inherits the distortion because its generated from the DEM.

I've just been playing with a new DJI phantom professional. I shot around 233 photos following a more or less random pattern for testing purposes. The drone was manually controlled and I shot images manually as well.
I've tried using different coordinate systems but I guess its not dependant on that isn't it?

Why would the images be bad georeferrenced? I recall that the drone just detected 8 satellites so it might have wrong or innacurate GPS positions. Is the DEM building process using them in some way? I am pretty new to aerial imagery and GIS so I am a complete newbie  :-\

Manuel.

Thank you Alexey, it is working now. (I am sorry about the 1.2 version thing)

However the Orthomosaic looks very strange, just like it has been projected on a wrong plane:
- This is my workflow:

1. Generate sparse point cloud using 0 tie point and 40.000 key point limit. Would my Orthomosaic be more precise if I generate more points on my sparse cloud?

2. Generate dense cloud. High. Moderate filtering mode
3. Build DEM (Coordinate system comes automatic) Source data: Dense cloud
4. Build Orthomosaic I can't change the projection from Geographic to planar (this might be the problem?)
5. Export Orthomosaic

Thank you,
Manuel Franquelo.

General / Orthomosaic generation
« on: August 12, 2015, 12:26:18 PM »
Dear All,

I am new on this Agisoft feature, Orthomosaic building. I've read on another topic that it wouldn't be needed to generate the mesh in order to create the orthomosaic on version 1.2.0 (I might be wrong however). I've just generated the dense cloud but the "Build Orthomosaic" "Build DEM" are on grey.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I select something first?  :-\

Thanks!  :)

Feature Requests / Viewport optimisation - Performance settings

When displaying a huge polygon count mesh (14 million) or whatever number, it would be great to optimise the visualization based on FPS like many 3d softwares. Something like a decimated mesh for rotation & zooming etc. Could also use a visualization option to automatically change to point cloud when rotating the mesh or moving it.

Best,

Manuel Franquelo.

Great it works now :-) (I've removed that line)
Colour correction is not enabled, however it is a different project. It is very similar to the rest I was working on and the difference on the "blending" process was pretty high. I'll test the same file with 1.1.6 and 1.2 and report back.

Thank you!
