General / 360 dual fisheye multi-cam rig
« on: September 12, 2020, 02:11:14 AM »

Working with the unstiched, dual fisheye footage from a GoPro fusion -- I had a few questions.

Offset solve:

Since there is very little overlap between the cameras, can a third Cam capture additional viewpoints into order to solve for the locked position of the two cam body?  Would tape-measuring the offset help?

Can the images be flattened/undistorted  or reprojected onto estimated lens geo?

I'm looking to avoid stitching the footage, but rather write a script to align a camera solved track of the footage to the photogrammetric positions for re-framing.

General / 360 Video
« on: July 05, 2018, 02:54:13 AM »
It appears recent versions of PhotoScan allow both video input and 360 FOV.

Is there a way to extract the per-frame flight path, even if the video extraction only solves for Nth frames?

If not, would the approach be two align the point cloud (and whole scene?) of a SynthEyes track to the PhotoScan resolve?

The geometry doesn't have to be extremely hi res.

The GoPro Fusion is the camera I'm targeting, low flown on a drone with lots of footage.  I currently have one 1080ti and 16gigs of ram.

Any guidance or ideas before I start shopping?

General / Alignment slows down exponentially with number of photos
« on: May 29, 2014, 05:47:32 PM »

Right now I'm processing 2807 photo's.  It's been running for nine hours and thirty five minutes with an estimated one hundred and sixteen hours and forty five minutes to go for alignment alone.

The images are extracted from a video with many clear features high contrast values and colors and high overlap - it should be an easy alignment.

Running projects with fewer photo's ~1200 only takes about eight hours.

I am running on a MacBook Retina with 16gb of ram.

Any ideas of what could be the cause?

Bug Reports / Re: OSX hard freeze while building mesh

I'm runniing the console on a new mesh.

It is large - 77 mil pts.

It only fails at the build mesh stage.  Could deactivating the gpu stuff make a difference?

Bug Reports / OSX hard freeze while building mesh
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:49:21 PM »

I'm having a consistent freeze while trying to build a mesh in 1.02 on osx.  This is on a retina macbook with a 650M with 1024 mb.

The computer hard freezes.  The mouse stops working - kaput.  I need to hold down the power button to restart.

General / 30min at 120fps

I have a 30 min video at 120fps covering a large out door area as completely as possible.

Should I take every 5th frame and let it go?
