Seems to be a similar problem to the following: http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=2638

Try to export in Local Coordinates from PhotoScan.

Works now, but I need to export models With coordinate system...

General / Re: Generic texture model exported has png file like a puzzle...
« on: September 24, 2014, 11:59:03 PM »
Hello Sky_hie,

Generic mapping mode creates multiple charts to describe the models' texture. In case you need custom parametrization, you can export the model, create custom UVs and bring back the model using Import option for texturing.

So this is normal, and when importing to a 3d viewing program all texture will be there?

Also, anyone have any good 3d viewing/animation programs free and paid. Do you Alexey?

Thanks,

SH

When exporting model With Generic texture the png file aside the model file is like a Puzzle... Is this correct?

Hello Sky_hie,

You have problem with model surface or texture? Or both?

Both..

Hi as eddiethemartian say you used HEIGH FIELD recon mode, use AARBITRARY mode, should be much better fot this sort of datas...

The model is mainly a model of the ground. and is georeferenced. For this it is best solution to use Height Field?? and not Arbitrary..?

When to use camera calibrate function?
Is there any criteria for when this should be used? And at what stage?

certain scenarios will require camera calibration.
recently i tested a mirror-less system with a zoom-lens, fixed @ the max. fov.
i took about 10 photos of a flat, well textured brick-wall. camera-orientation close to the normal case, like in aerial or stereo photogrammetry.

the reconstuction without pre-calibration resulted in a (barrel-like) distorted model. the wall was bent. the reconstruction with data from calibration resulted in an accurate model.
there are many articles out there, examinating the process of self-calibration.
like cahngchang wu's paper: Critical Configurations For Radial Distortion Self-Calibration http://ccwu.me/file/radial.pdf or a german publication presenting charts of deviation of parameters from self-calibration vs. calibrated data. https://www.hcu-hamburg.de/fileadmin/documents/Geomatik/Labor_Photo/publik/dvw_schriftenreihe_tls2012_remondino_kersten.pdf

you should apply the calibration-profile before you start image alignment.

Thank you for Your answer. I have actually Applied the calibration before image alignment.

General / Have a aerial dataset. How to make sidewall of buildings better?
« on: September 18, 2014, 01:46:53 PM »
Hi.

I have a aerial datasett with pictures taken from above and from the side of a building, but the buildings are not very good in the model.

Please see attached pics.

How can I make the result better?

Everything is fine now. Had to swap x and y ;)

Thanks,

Hello Sky-hie,

You can re-import the coordinates with correct order even now and then just press Update button in the Ground Control pane to georeference the model according to the new data, but I'd rather recommend to re-optimize the alignment (just using Optimize option, no need to run the Alignment stage again) and rebuild the dense cloud/mesh for better accuracy.

Ok. I will try this and post back when dense cloud generation is finished. Thank you so far! Good support as always :)

Thanks for the screenshots.

But I'm still sure that you need to swap X and Y columns. Since according to the estimated camera coordinates their altitude is under the ground level.

hmm. I can see that. So you mean that I should have swapped x and y when importing the coordinates for gcps at the beginning of Project? Do I have to do the Processing again since optimalization is run on current setting?
